I bought these after reading the reviews about how long they were, as every breastfeeding/maternity tank I come across is way too short for me and doesn't cover the butt or bump. Let me just say that these are amazing, not only do they cover my entire bump (I'm 5'0, 33 weeks pregnant, 200lbs, and DD cup), but they also cover the "lady parts" and most of my butt. I love this because I am currently only comfortable in leggings, but none of my shirts go that far down. And on top of that, they don't ride up at all!! Mine are just little tight, more-so around the breast area. I think I should have ordered the large instead of the medium because I've gained so much weight this pregnancy. But I am the type that prefers my clothes tighter so I am not too worried.
These tanks have a good amount of support around the breast area, and I don't even need to wear a bra with them (and I need to wear a bra in EVERYTHING). They each have clamps for both breasts so you can detach them for breast feeding easily and very discreetly. The clamps are very sturdy, so no worries about breaking them or something happening to them in the wash. Also, the material for the shirts is strong and very stretchy like I have said before, and have withstood my pit bull jumping on me and scratching at them, without putting any knicks in them.
I plan on wearing these all the time, even when I'm not pregnant or breastfeeding. They're really good at "holding everything in" and reduces the appearance of cellulite/muffin tops, and they are comfortable and breathable. I sweat at the drop of a hat, and another worry of mine was that the material would be itchy and make me sweat even more. Not the case, in fact it is just the opposite. The price on them was also pretty cheap, especially compared to the rest of the maternity clothes out there. I took my time and read reviews on tons of breastfeeding tanks, and these had great reviews and a great price. I am so happy that I chose them, and I highly recommend these.
The only thing I will say is that it is definitely a good idea to read other reviews in terms of sizing, and follow their size chart! However if you are like me and have gained over 50lbs this pregnancy, I would go the next size up. I based my sizing on my pre-pregnancy size (medium), and so that is what I bought. Unfortunately I have to come to terms with the fact that I am now a large and probably would have done better getting a bigger size. Regardless, when I am no longer pregnant these will be the perfect fit. I am just a little worried about how much bigger my boobs will get, but they are stretchy so they should accommodate.
Update: I've now had my baby and still love these tanks! I did find they were a little too tight when my milk first came in, during which time the bras with the extenders were really helpful. Now that my milk supply is evening out, I can wear these tanks again.
Within 24 hours of posting my review (below), HOFISH contacted me and offered me a partial refund (which I received) to purchase different pads since that was a primary complaint and also offered to send me the black white and gray nursing tops to try (which just came in the mail yesterday (and they also sent a couple other things free of charge for me to try that are being discontinued, but for which they didn’t ask me to leave a review). I appreciate the attention to detail with my review complaints and generous offer to try to make things right for me. I hope that sometime in the future they do update the product picture with more accurate colors, as the colors are much lighter, and the pads are still large but worth the purchase. I’m still happy with my purchase, but now I’m more than satisfied! I updating my review from 3/5 to 5/5 because of customer service and genuine interest in meeting customers desire. They are really very nice nursing tanks for the price and I do recommend! I’m also adding photos of the accurate colors and comparison between sets since they ARE different. Main differences I see are the the bra pads in the black/white/grey set are much smaller (black and blue tanks compared in photo). The tanks feel a TINY bit thinner and softer and not quite as tight, but it’s hardly noticeable and I’d say the quality is not different. The b/w/g set actually looks better on me as I’m small chested, but they’re all lovely and I’m wearing them here last few weeks of pregnancy and looking forward to wearing them during breastfeeding.
First of all, I'm 9 months pregnant with second kiddo and have tried other nursing tanks. These are the winners for several reasons, although I'm not altogether thrilled with the colors which are much more subtle in picture online. I'm 5'4" 118lb normally with a 34A/36A cup. During pregnancy my band size expands significantly, and I can't stand tightness there or I start to feel sick so I always have to size up to medium. I purchased the navy, blue, and red set in size Medium. The cups come up rather high, but they fit exactly as I expected and pretty identically to my Kindred Braverly top (when it was new).
For comparison, I have one Kindred Braverly tank from last pregnancy in black and I also really loved the Caramel Cantina tanks that look similar to these online for color & fabric, super smooth and soft and stretchy, and the colors were more wearable and subtle. I returned the Caramel Cantina tanks and kept these because I wanted the built in bra top with pads, the Caramel Cantina nursing tanks are just fold down tanks without any padding or additional lining. When I buy a nursing tank I want it to be dual purpose, having to clip down a tank and then clip down a bra is too much drama, and I do not at all like for nursing pads (reusable or disposable) to be able to be seen from the outside. If you just want a clip down tank in very lovely deep colors... go for Caramel Cantina, sorry HOFISH.
The fabric is lovely and smooth (for now) and soft, I expect it will get pilly after a number of washes and wears like my Kindred Braverly tank. I was very upset with this for the more expensive brand, but knowing just how much I wore the one tank I had last pregnancy / breastfeeding, I'm OK to deal with it when it comes. They are amazing to live in and the snug fit feels GREAT post partum when everything is sloshing around. I always wear a cardigan or another top overtop with company, when it's just the hubs and me I live in the tank by itself... pilly balls and all.
There are a couple of negatives in comparing to the more expensive brand:
-The removable cup is rather stiff and very large. I'm somewhat concerned that the cup will have fold marks in it if bent too much. It does fold completely down though, so it may not be a problem. The more expensive brand has smaller softer cups that retain shape very well. These may slip around less during laundering process, here's hoping!
-The colors are NOT like online. I'd guess from photo that wine, medium blue, and navy are the colors. In person they are cranberry (which is nice enough), medium navy (nice but I'd prefer darker), and ELECTRIC blue. That is not at all what I was expecting based on the photo. I'd very happily trade my electric blue for any darker color... please. Electric??? Since I wear them largely for lounging I'll try to ignore the shocking color and wear that one cleaning etc.
Things I like:
-Fully "padded" / lined cup which will not show nursing pads
-Soft, smooth, snug. This is not a "will make you look and feel sexy" kind of a tank.. it'll show the lumps, lol, but it feels nice if you like being held in.
-Three pack instead of expensive singles.
I'd really like if they sold black separately, I could really use another black tank but I can't justify buying another set of three when I know I'd only wear black and maybe grey while trying to keep two kiddos in diapers (lol).
HOFISH please update the colors to represent accuracy. I'm disappointed with the blue and would otherwise surely give 4/5 stars. The are nice tanks and more affordable.
I decided to do a video because I think its hard buying clothing online, so I hope showing my body weight/size helps others with ordering. I always feel like its a gamble that I will pick the right size.
I also plan on wearing them in the hospital after baby is born instead of the gown they give you. So breast feeding will be easier, and when guest come in I will just throw my thin robe over myself.
These are awesome because you can wear them under a shirt, AS A BRA, or wear by itself. Very convenient for breast feeding. I love everything about them! Will order more in different colors.
I am 5’2... 140pounds (117prepregnancy) and I got a medium just to be safe.
They fit wonderfully. The cups are a little big because I am very small chested but you cannot even tell while wearing the tanks.
I got the size s/m. At 4 weeks pp, they are working great foe nursing and are very comfortable!
Makes you feel smoothed out, yet it’s doesnt feel tight like shapers. These also are longer, which I love! The support is pretty decent for a built in bra tank top, at least the best I h e found. I’m a 40-D/ 7 months pregnant and feel
Supported more than any other built in bra tank or wireless bra. I am excited to have these for post partum and beyond. I’d order these even if I wasn’t pregnant!!! Will be ordering more! I’m a size 16/18 pre-pregnancy, ordered XL.
I will say I work at home and a bra is totally optional in my normal daily life. I hate bras and can usually only wear them an hour or two before I start feeling claustrophobic. I can wear these all day long and forget they’re there. I’m so happy I decided to order these early in my pregnancy!
Don't get the white tops in Medium size. The one I received has green stains and black marks on the cups (see photos). No idea what the stains are but you can tell it's from a liquid and it's a copper green color like you see on some sink faucets from degrading copper pipes. The replacement I ordered is also stained green but since the stains were really small and light in color I decided to try to get it out myself with Oxiclean but it didn't work. The black and grey tops in both sets are fine: it's just the white that is defective. Additionally, the cup inserts came pretty mangled with deep creases that can be seen through the front of the top.
Other than that the tops are very comfortable, the fabric is soft, and they fit easily under fall-weight clothing and t-shirts.
** UPDATE **
I purchased the old version (my last review) when I was pregnant last year- I didn’t make it past 15 weeks of pregnancy so did not get a chance to experience growing into that at the time. I purchased the new version in large for my current pregnancy as the mediums were getting way too tight now at 26 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately they seem the same size as the medium, still too tight around the ribcage. The padding seems better though. But THE STRAPS. They are horrible and dig into my skin. I can’t even wear them 30 minutes before the pain starts!!! I wouldn’t recommend this brand anymore.
