These are lower quality than the name brand Goody Spin Pins. I was super excited to find these for so much less on Amazon. When they arrived and I started using them, I noticed a few issues. 1 - the are shiny gold, not brushed like the name brand, this means they don't blend into your hair as well and are more noticeable 2 - THE BIG DIFFERENCE - the balls on the end of the spiral pins are not placed properly on any of the pins I received. This means that there is a slightly jagged, blunt end on the pins with an offset ball. This makes it to where the pins do not spin in or out smoothly. I often have them get stuck and pull on my hair as I am putting them in or out. I do not think they are nearly as gentle on my hair as the name brand ones.
Overall, I wouldn't repurchase because of this issue. I enjoy these pins because they are gentle and don't crease my hair. The issues with these pins makes it to where I don't get those benefits.
I am always loosing my spin pins. This is an 8 pack.😉. That's one in the purse, one in the truck, one in the purse. These are slightly lighter gauge that the goodie spin pin and brighter golden color. They work just as well. I bought a 3 pack a few months ago but they were mini's. Too much hair for that. Thank you for this 8 pack for a very reasonable price. When I lose some (they are like socks, where do they go?) I will order more. Any one wishing to up there hair up easily and quickly, this pin is you you!
A friend told me that these Bobby pins were the secret to the "messy bun". They look nice, gold to match my hair. They are super easy to use and work perfectly, it only takes two pins to make my bun, and I have a lot of hair. It's so much more comfortable than wearing a large plastic clip. I wish I had known about these years ago.
Love these! I have super thick hair and regular bobby pins don't work, even if they're covered in hairspray. I put two of these in a regular bun and they didn't budge even when I shook my head. This is definitely my new favorite and I'm expecting less breakage. My coworker and I are testing it out on wet hair! Success!
I bought this product because I am always losing my spin pins and these were a great price. However, when I received them, only 2 of 8 pins were usable. The rest had multiple rough edges and pits in the metal that snagged in my hair. When removing them, there would be 4 - 6 broken hairs caught in the rough spots. Not happy. Returned them and bought a different brand.
They held a beautiful top bun for a 5 hour gymnastics practice! They made it through all events AND the pit!! Even the coach commented on how nice her hair looked! DD is a competitive gymnast, Level 10. That means we normally leave the gym with her long fine hair looking like a disaster. Meet hair is a never ending drama because NOTHING would hold. One pony tail and five of these babies and her hair DID.NOT.MOVE. As an added bonus, it was comfortable. I didn’t have to pull it until she couldn’t move her face. I have already forwarded the link for these to other moms because everyone was in awe!
Before I found these, I had been using the cheap Bobby pins to hold my bun, but they always got loose and my bun wouldn’t stay, and they would only last for one use. I have really long thick hair, and these have made it so easy to throw up a quick bun that will stay in place. I have used them multiple times because the metal is thick. I would highly recommend these for thick and/or long hair. I have told many people about these after they saw my hair staying in place
These spiral pins one have ball-shaped ends on the wires (so as not to scratch your scalp). Problem is when removing the pins, some hair gets caught in those little ball ends and pulls out hairs. I have used similar pins before - much simpler style. Those did not have the ball-shaped ends. I never scratched my scalp and never pulled out hair when removing. IMO the simple ones were better.
I adore these little hair screw thingies. I have very long, fine (but a lot of it), and slightly wavy hair. These hold it in place like magic. You can't see them in blonde hair, and they just spin in and out as needed. It is my go-to solution for days where I want to wear my hair up in a bun (messy or more polished).
I ordered these pins for my daughter who has very long, hick hair. I’ve used other spin pins in her, but they never seemed quite long enough to hold her hair well for the entire day. These pins do just that. One pin will beep her hair in a basic bun through her entire, very active day. She’s nine, so she needed something that would last through the school day and during any extra-curricular activities and these pins do the trick. We’re very happy with them and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for something that will work with long, thick hair.
