One day, she thought, one moment, one innocent game. How was it that day, that moment, that game never seemed to end?
Caitlyn Sullivan is just nine years old when a game of hide-and-seek at a family party will change her life forever.
The betrayal she experienced that night will shape Caitlyn's life - and for years she runs and runs, hiding from the aftermath of the trauma. But Caitlyn comes to realise that if she wants to not just survive but thrive, she must return to the family home to face up to her past.
What happened that night may always haunt Caitlyn, but she must decide if it's what you're running from that matters. Or who finds you.

And the best thing? Nora's writing. The dialogue is sharp, entertaining, witty and brief. The prose is perfect, not too long and beautifully written, sometimes in ways you have to reread to get the gist. I have highlighted so many paragraphs - as a writer myself, I aspire to being able to intrigue and delight my readers in the same way as Nora does. AS tempted as I am to copy hers, I won't (obviously!) but I will re read them over the next few weeks and use it as inspiration to work just that little bit harder to entertain my readers as much as Nora does.
I'll finish with one of my favourites:
"Regardless, now that the sun dipped closer to the sea, the light changng with the journey, they needed to start back."

I feel like we never got the full ending. I wanted Sparks rage as things fell apart. I wanted the family dinner.
I think we miss a lot of the big pictures, finding out about the calls afterwards just threw off the character growth.
Not her best book but a light easy read.
