For objects and media where a flatbed scanner won't do this is terrifically useful. It takes up very little desk space, and is as quick, if not quicker than using a scanner. Very good for things like book covers with highly-reflective metallic blocking; quick images of sketches and so on. Resolution is fine for my purposes. The free-download software is elegant and intuitive. It's getting much, much more use than I thought it would.

One gripe: there is a 'warm' spot at the centre of images. I'm not sure if it's a fault with the sensor on my IPEVO. I'd be interested to know if anyone else is having the same problem.

First rate bit of kit. Works well. One tip is if you intend downloading and installing the visualiser software for Windows do not use the version obtainable via the Windows store, use the version for Windows 7 and above (it is on the line below the version marked Windows 10 on the IPEVO website. I was given this advice by the extremely efficient and helpful IPEVO support team as a solution to a problem I was having making the software work with my Logitech webcam.

Focal distance could be greater

Tried a couple of USB cameras. This one is great! Good picture quality, even in less than ideal lighting levels. Camera filters are a bit of a gimic, but the other features are all well thought out and easy to use. Setting it up is a doddle. I bought this for teaching electronics, so resolution of circuit boards needs to be good. The only issue I found is the either the arm need to be longer, or the zoom needs to go futher out so more can be captured. Solved by adding two extra 15cm sections to the articulated arm (wood, nuts and bolts). It now caputres A3 area. Before it was a little over A4 area. Zoom feature is great. As is image rotation and overlaying grids. Tested on a couple of web meeting platforms (Webex and Google) and the feedback from viewers was favourable.

I bought this item in March 2020 for £99 and have no idea how the new inflated price could be justified. I posted this as a question two days ago but my question is not shown because it was not answered. For £99 it was adequate, at over £200 it is lacking, images lag and there is no document light or zoom function. Autofocus needs prompting and I would advise looking elsewhere if you need anything more than a very basic document camera.

Frustratingly temperamental waste of money

A couple of weeks ago I made a video with this for the first time. The picture turned out really well, but I had to resort to my headset microphone as the sound quality from the iPevo was shocking.
Today I’ve spent over an hour trying to get the darn thing to focus on a printed exam paper so that I can record worked solutions for my year 10s, and will it focus? Not on your life (or my sanity, as it turns out). Not from 25cm, not from 5cm, not with extra lighting or less lighting, and no matter how many times I press the damn ‘autofocus’ button, which now apparently has the precision of a three-year old doing a finger painting.
Unless it magically starts working again, this was a profound waste of money.
