On a positive note, the range of this camera is excellent compared to the DXR-5. The quality of the daytime (not infrared) image was also excellent. This camera/monitor is very easy to use and set-up and the menu is very easy to navigate. If this unit had the VOX feature like the older DXR-5, we would have exchanged this unit for another DXR-6 to see if the connection issues were present on a second unit.
The image quality is great, and night vision is pretty good.
Many complain about no VOX mode, but I don't trust VOX. So I like that I can turn the screen off when I'm sleeping and still have constant audio feed to know the monitor is still working.
We've had no interference with WiFi, but our microwave does interfere. Not a big deal since that's not in constant use.
Battery life is decent. The gauge is misleading though. It takes a long time to go from 4 bars to 3, but then goes from 2 bars to 0 very quickly. With the monitor on i think we get 3-4 hours out of the battery.
Once I got a second camera I figured out that you can keep the screen from timing out by going in the menu and selecting "view" and picking the camera you want to view. When we're using both, we select "scan" and it alternates frequently.
I wish the parent unit has a clip. It does have a stand. But you have to be looking at it from just the right angle to really see the screen.
Not being able up adjust the camera angle from the parent device isn't a big deal for us. If the volume is turned down, you can turn on the parent device while you manually adjust the camera to get it set just right. If you point it down too far the LED will reflect off the surface the camera is on and reduce the image quality.
