First, it's beautiful. Much better looking than the stock plastic outflow pipe that came with my Fluval 206 canister filter.
Second, it works well. I picked up the lily pipe fixture kit to mount this to the tank. The clear acrylic compliments the clear glass well. To hook this up to my Fluval 206, I bought a pair of rubber adapters for the Fluval flex hosing, then some hose clamps from my local hardware store. I trimmed the existing hose down since these pipes hang down in the back, then hooked everything up and tightened the clamps (not too tight - don't want to break the glass). Water is flowing out nicely.
I'm running this on an Aqueon 29 gallon tank. The pipe doesn't come down into the water deep enough, so there's always a loud bubbling/running water sound with this pipe. I can't get it to rest any lower in the tank either. I would have given 5 stars, but because my tank is now loud (and it is in the main living room where the family watches TV), I can't.
If you're looking for a unique and beautiful piece of glass to enhance your aquarium filtration system, definitely give these serious consideration.
plus.. especially when trying to go for the "invisible look".
I used a heat gun to install the inflow and outflow that I also purchased. I had a standard Eheim intake and spray bar, which I really liked, but decided to give these Jardli pieces a chance, which I'm glad I did.
Overall, top notch stuff, came well packed, and if you understand that clear glass will show more algae over black plastic, then I very much say go for it!
I use to have a big black surface skimmer which was a serious eye sore but now.. beautiful!
This actually removes the surface scum by creating a Ventura!
Totally worth the money and this feels very high quality. Get it if you're on the fence.
