This morning I received the delivery, just in time for the morning walk. I put the Targhee III on and can't believe my bad luck when the inside lining near the big toe (this time on the right) comes off the shoe creating a large bubble that competes with the toe every time you take a step. Do Keen shoes not go through quality control during the manufacturing process? I can sort of understand that a fold in the seam may be missed, but the lining coming off the form, its pretty obvious. And to order 3 shoes and find 2 faulty is a failure rate of 66% - That is pretty bad!
I am not sure if the issue is that Keen's QC is poor or if Amazon is selling "seconds". If so, Amazon should be stating this clearly, so customers can make an informed choice if they want to take the risk.
As for Keen, I hope the company improves the QC, because otherwise customers will loose trust in the brand and move on.
They have held up incredibly well and I have not experienced any quality issues.
They are super comfortable and fit my foot really well.
I did buy a half a size bigger than I would normally wear as recommended on Keens website.
All up I am very happy with my purchase.

4 month update : See photos, these aren't as tough as I had hoped. The protective layer on the instep has come away. Waterproofing still holding for the moment though.
