I bought these in may and it is now august. So I've worn these for almost 4 months. I'm glad I waited to review these. At first they were awesome. Light weight, very breathable and comfortable. About a month in I had to replace the insole because my foot was killing me and the cement construction started peeling apart. Now, 4 months in these shoes are completely destroyed, the shoe bends in half with little to no effort. It offers zero support and my feet are killing me. They provided me with a pretty comfortable 2.5 months at best. You should know, I work at a machine shop. I walk on average 12 miles a day, some chemicals and oils, a lot of heavy lifting and pivoting. If you have a hectic and strenuous job then I don't think these are the shoes for you. Oh.. and the price?? I don't think it's unfair to expect 6 months out of a 150 dollar shoe! I guess I might buy them again at half of the price. Maybe!
The back doesn't go high enough on the heel to hold it in the shoe. Might be OK for you if you have a wider heel than mine.
I have other Keen Safety shoes such as the Flint which I love and was hoping to get a pair that was lighter weight and cooler for use when traveling to hot climates. I also recommend getting a set of stiff insoles that serve as a shank so that the shoe bends at the ball. ....also the laces are a little weird; they don't tighten high on the ankle and there's a toggle that holds them closed which may not be everyone's preference.
I love the keen Atlanta steel toe shoes. I wish I could’ve found them in the brown leather like I originally had. I pair them with Ortho recommended power step pro inserts. I work 50+ hours a week standing on my feet as a production supervisor in automotive manufacturing. The same previous pare lasted me almost 2.5 years. I will continue to replace this shoe with the same shoe as long as they’re made. I have a very expensive pair of water proof ariats and continued to get atheletes feet from them. With the breathable material and still covers all the safety points these are fantastic.
This has standard Keen fit which works well for me. Flatter arch and wider fit. With this no lace design I attempted to make the strap tight which actually made these rub above my heel really badly. The key was actually to keep them a little on the loose side. It took me a little while to get used to, but once I did they are very comfortable and quick to get off/on.
I've tried many work shoes, and these are my favorites by far. This is my second pair, after the first lasted about twice as long as either Wolverine or Sketchers Work shoes. Comfortable, protective, and breathable.
I will not buy another pair of these shoe's. Right shoe feels like it is a size to small causing blisters on the toe and heel of my foot! The left shoe fits nice and is very comfortable. I have never had this problem before.
All of the reviews I read said these were very comfortable. They are not comfortable. After wearing them for less then 4 hours my feet hurt. These are better then the boots I had be wear when I went to the construction site, but they are not the miracle shoes the reviews claimed.
The shoes are okay. I've had them for almost a year now and the shoes are still holding up really well. I wear them five days a week (sometimes 6) and anywhere between 8 and 9 hours on those days at my job in a warehouse. I am on my feet all night and walk anywhere between 7 and 10 miles in that night as I move through the warehouse. I recommend them. My only issue is how easily the loops for the laces break. I ended up punching my own holes for laces.
