I purchased these shoes almost two years ago. I'm a machinist, so I'm constantly working with heavy metals, walking over metal chips (basically tiny razor blades), and spend 8-18 hours a day on my feet. The insoles lasted about 18 months before my feet started to hurt and I needed to replace them, but as soon as I replaced the insoles, all was well, and given the amount of use they get, 18 months was a very good run. After almost two years, I've finally worn them down enough that it was time to replace them, so I just ordered the exact same pair again. They breath better than any work shoe I've ever worn (or for that matter, better than any normal shoe I've worn), and with the tension laces they're just loose enough to slip on and off without damaging the back, but still tight enough that they don't move around, wobble, or slip intentionally. Worth every penny and more
I wore these all Summer and into Fall working as a technician in an un-air conditioned shop in NC where temps were in the upper 90's pushing 100 and my normal work boots were drowning my feet in sweat. These are very breathable and surprised me just how comfortable they feel on my feet. After several months they look new other than being a little dirty. The soles and tread are like new even being constantly exposed to gas, oil, and solvents. I'll be keeping these to break out again once it warms up in 2019
These shoes are comfortable enough to wear. The problem is any real amount of movement and your feet will be hot. The ventilation does very little for you on this. Working on a polished concrete floor results in the soles of these shoes squeaking terribly. The laces are also very annoying. You cannot leave the end loose as the weight out there causes them to flop all over the place. I ended up tucking them into the last lace. Would be better if they were just normal laces.
Mid top and high tops were getting a bit heavy. Switched to this sneaker safety toe, been using for months. Thought having no ankle support would hinder its use in my work but it’s helped with my mobility.
The weird lace straps are odd but if you move around a lot you’d have to tie your shoes more then once a day anyways. I like them but they may not hold up feel kinda weak but holding up for the past couple months. They do require a quick tightening every so often but I just add a stretch with it and it’s a great routine.
This is my second pair of Keen work boots/shoes and I still love'em. I wear the wide version and they fit like a dream. Steel toes are key and there all in. You cant beat a really great feeling she that's for sure but the big draw is how great they look as well. I bought them originally as a strictly work boot replacement but now after buying my second pair (a low, almost tennis shoe style with all the same features as my full size boot originals) I might just sport this brand regularly. I plan on buying another pair soon. I hadnt heard of Keen before but when I wore them I quickly realized I missed the memo on a well known well respected and high quality product. Thank You, I absolutely live tem.
All KEEN shoes and boots are well made, durable and are comfortable to work in all day. Most are available in extra wide (EE) and come in a wide variety of styles and colors. I have been wearing KEEN boots and shoes for about 10 years and have been completely satisfied with each and every pair.
Sad truth is that a huge percentage of safety shoes are agonizingly uncomfortable. I am very pleased with these. They are the most comfortable ones I have owned to date. I went up a full size and they are just right.
