Very thin aluminium knife with a lot of uncontrollable flex. Not suitable for chopping, slicing or dicing anything of substance due to the flex and the danger of the blade shifting during the cut. Craftmanship is about what you expect on a cheap knife, blade is easily chipped.

Blade is sharp, suitable for filleting and fine work in relatively soft product.

I love cooking and have a variety of knives – from expensive Japanese works of art, to cheap and cheerful rubbish that I just can’t quite get to recycling (and that you have to sharpen every week) – but these Kiwi knives are just great. They were recommended to me as being a bargain, AND super sharp. And they are. If you look after them (don’t leave citrus juice on them overnight), they will become your go to knives as well. OK you have to oil the handles as they are wooden and will dry out if you use them as much as I do, but that’s part of their charm. If you have a nice whetstone, then these will keep their edge longer than many more expensive brands.

Habe das Messer inzwischen seit einigen Wochen beinahe täglich im Einsatz. Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit!
Ich vergleiche es keinesfalls mit teuren Messern, aber das teil ist genau richtig für faule Säcke wie mich, die das Messer nicht pflegen, in die Spülmaschine stecken und auch gerne mal betrunken beim Grillen damit herumhantieren.
Für ein Messer in der "Ist mir Scheißegal"-Preisklasse finde ich das Teil hervorragend! Ich rechne nicht damit, dass dieses Messer Geburtstag bei mir feiern wird...

Erst einmal die Hauptmerkmale dieses Messers, es ist scharf, sehr scharf sogar. Davon lassen sich sicherlich die meisten Benutzer beeindrucken, außerdem ist es leicht und liegt gut in der Hand.
Andererseits ist es bei dem Preis klar, das es kein hochwertiges Messer sein kann. Der Stahl ist eher gepresstes Blech, dass obendrein nicht stabil ist. Es ist sehr wackelig, es biegt sich hin und her, insbesondere wenn das Schnittgut etwas härter ist.
Ich möchte damit z. B. keinen Kohlkopf durchschneiden, aus Angst das Messer verbiegt sich, oder bricht sogar ab.
Für die meisten Gemüse reicht es allerdings aus, aber man bemerkt schon nach relativ kurzer Zeit ein nachlassen der Schärfe, die sich aber mit einem Wetzstahl wieder herstellen lässt.
Wer etwas gehobene Ansprüche an ein Kochmesser stellt, sollte besser etwas mehr ausgeben.
