Fabulous!! I love every single song. This may be a third album but in my opinion it keeps that truly special combination of beautiful lyrics, great vocals by Lauren and of course not forgetting the 80's inspired synthpop. Don't read the rubbish album reviews by so called professionals. Is it really wrong to write songs that touch on the current issues in the world we live in? I think it makes them more memorable and something many of us need to ground us and gives us something to think about.
If you enjoyed the previous two albums this one is an absolute gem! Turn up the volume and get lost in the music.

Product description
2018 release. Chvrches third studio album Love Is Dead follows the success of Every Open Eye and The Bones of What We Believe. Production credits include 2017 and 2018 Grammy Producer of the Year Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia) on nine out of 13 songs and Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, P!nk) on "Miracle". The band collaborated with David Stewart from Eurythmics and Matt Berninger from The National during production. Chvrches are a Scottish synth-pop band from Glasgow, formed in September 2011. Mostly deriving from the synthpop genre, Chvrches also incorporates indietronica, indie pop, and electronic dance into their sound.

Love is not dead .... because I'm totally in love with this record!

From the very beginning you feel in familiar hands - that faint whiff of summer anthems beating in the misty festival heat comes washing back and the thrill of listening to a record which opens up into better song after better song returns.
Thats how I would also sum up the previous two albums and now also Love is Dead - If Every Eye Opens remains for me their most brilliant moment so far, the great news is this is not far behind at all and it may grow even greater over time. Deliverance is the track which wakes you out of electronic beat slumber - theirs a really cool telephone line like vibration in the background every now and then that somehow manages to make you appreciate the electronic subtlety that surrounds the sound of Chvurches throughout the rest of the record. The use of lyrics remains high quality - the groove faintly 80's, the fashionable yet relevant use of sound glitch in places zeitgeisty, and with enough originality in each song to enable the listener to join in the anthemic journey. There is a charm to the use of lyrics - alot of rhythmic syllables that kick off choruses nicely. Chvurches manage to push their warm sense of style along enough without ever evolving into a gimmicky sound.
Very good acts in whatever age manage to stay true to the sound they want, but also manage to compose each song with TLC and a sense of vision. Highlights are Deliverance, My Enemy (fab duet, great they start to explore new vocal combinations here - an instant classic too), Miracle (the soon to be another classic epic festival in the evening summer sing along surely......), Graves, Heaven/Hell.......and the rest are very good quality.
I think this is the one modern act we have who's levels are on a constant high - whatever it is it really really works for me....whether its the vocalists charm or the fab use of synth tech, or the sheer song writing talent,.....love it!

Disappointing and lacking novelty.

After the first and second albums surely Chvrches were going to turn out another sure fire winner. It is however the most disappointing of their releases to date (including Screen Violence the latest album). What I particularly dislike is the lack of variety between the tracks which is driven home by a style that repeats phrases in the lyrics over and over and over. It is at best a pop record and at that, sadly, not a good one with no stand out tracks.

This is 80s nostalgia refreshed!

Loved the first album and is probably still my favourite. I felt the second album lost its way and I got bored. I do still think keep you on my side from that album is great, for the up tempo synth pop and raw feelings chvrches bring up.
But this 3rd album is sublime, not sure if stranger things has influenced me but this album could easily fit the soundtrack. I love the progression here. The lead single miracle and graves are great but my standout is God's plan, with minimal vocals from Lauren but she can still be heard and where the album takes a darker, melow tone.
Personally, I think this album is very strong and an improvement on every open eye and back to their original sound. Not a bad track on there. Well worth the buy and if you like the sounds of stranger things this might interest you.
