The LickiMat really worked well. Yogurt (pot set greek style) was best followed by squishing in the mince meat followed by emptying the roast chicken juices onto the mat. Dog breath improvement was surprisingly fast.
Please note: The item I was sent wasn't the design as above (which I had been epecting). Most of the review applies to both designs though. I have had the design as per the picture before too. These mats are great to keep at keeping my dogs busy with a peanut butter snack after tea. I haven't tried them with their usual food as they're on raw which would be a bit odd! One of the advantages of these over say a Kong toy is the ease of cleaning as you can see exactly what's left on the mat. Saying that, though, a Kong is virtually indestructible and these definitely are not. The advice suggests they are great for dogs who get bored when left but if I left either of mine with one of these for longer than it takes to lick it clean, the mat would be history and there would be strange coloured bits of plastic in their poo the following day. I have two large (25kg) dogs who love to chew so I pick the mats up when they are finished. There are chew marks around the edge of one after just a couple of weeks and my previous ones lasted a few months before being chewed to a very small piece!
I am so glad I found these! I purchased for my now 16 week old labrador pup; need I say anymore about a lab but this pup loves his food. I already had two longs for him, which he does like, but I find before he’s got to the end he’s lost interest which I why I thought the lickimat would work better. Well yay- I was right! I feel like because he can see and smell the food on the mat, he doesn’t give up until he’s had every last drop! Depending on what it is, it can keep him entertained for 20 minutes. Also seems very durable: he surprisingly hasn’t tried to chew it yet but even so, I think it seems sturdy enough to put up with some light chewing. I use peanut butter, banana, fruit/veg smoothies, wet food for mine; I also freeze them as then they’re ready for whenever I need them and last a lot longer.
I have two dogs, a labrador and a Jack Russell, both prone to destroying even indestructible toys so I was concerned trying these. First use they did both attempt to bite a corner but instead closely and told them off each time. Second use they didn't even try.
I've given them yoghurt and peanut butter on it so far, both times given a quick chill in the freezer.
It's a big hit! My JRT is prone to wolfing down her food and being sick after. She was visibly frustrated at first when using the mat but calmed down during the second use.
Cleans easily, lasting really well and doesn't slide around the floor.
We purchased this Lickimat as our puppy guzzled food at an alarming rate. We smeared his helping of food on the mat and he was quite to content to eat from the mat. The mat is durable, easy to clean and a good size for our puppy. Can also be used if your dog doesn't like travelling in the car. Smear with fruit or other food and it will distract them from the journey. In our opinion the Lickimat Buddy was well worth the money. Delivery was also quick too. Highly recommended. Thank you.
I bought this for my malamute cross. He loves it. I fill it with peanut butter and cream cheese and stick treats in. And I sometimes freeze it It’s ok to clean. You need to get at it quickly or put it in the dishwasher which does a good job. He did damage it and chew the edges. So i’d recommended if your dog is a big chewer to make sure you take it up as soon as he’s finishing licking it. All in all it’s a good product. Could be twice the size for my big boy though 😆
It's great, it does exactly as promised. It is grippy on my wood floor, but there are not any suction pads (probably my fault for not reading description properly) so not sure how it will last once my pup is all grown up. Very difficult to clean :( Unless there's some secret I don't know about! I found that soaking in hot soapy water, then holding at a 45 degree angle and using a toothbrush to clean/flick out the remaining food. Do one angle/side, then turn to clean other side and so on. Overall, please because doglett is pleased.
