My 2kg dog loves the Lickimat, she is a fussy eater & prefers this mat to other slow feeder bowls. It takes 10 times longer to eat her meal ( she has Crohns disease so this is great for her digestion & she keeps on licking the mat when the food is eaten. I’m going to purchase another. Great product!
I think the base of the mat should have been thicker especially if you have a large breed who is strong. It just moves around when my dog is trying to lick. Also the depth is not good. It’s so easy for a dog’s tongue to reach the spaces. Not worth buying. My dog will lick the mat within few minutes while I’m still trying to comb or trim her nails. Doesn’t serve the purpose.
Was hoping the product would keep my dog entertained for more than 2 minutes while I worked! I tried yoghurt which he licked up in about a minute and then wasn’t interested. I tried fishy water from a tin of tuna WITH yoghurt, again last about a minute. I then tried doggy peanut butter which not only was he not interested in but was an absolute PAIN to try to clean off - dishwasher didn’t get it so I had to eventually scrub it off which was also not easy within all the little rubber prongs. I was thought I would give it another try with yoghurt again and within 2 minutes he managed to completely destroy one and left lots of tiny rubber bits all over the kitchen. It says don’t leave your dog alone with it but it kind of defeats the object of the distraction mat to then be watching over them the whole time. I would understand if it took him an hour to destroy it but it was literally minutes. Wouldn’t recommend sadly.
Although the idea may sound great a trip to the vets wasn't after having the item pieces taken out of him after he chewed it up which he doesn't with Kong treat toys I usually use but decided to try this as a change for him. If u do use it do not leave your dog unattended
My westie loves it but unfortunately not suitable if you have a chewer. Every time he used it I'd then have to pull the bristles out of his teeth where they'd got stuck from him pulling them out. Now in the bin it's a shame as he did enjoy it. Now looking for different style
In theory a fantastic product and when used supervises for the first time really seemed to keep our cockatoo interested!
Unfortunately the first time he was left unattended with it, I came home to find the mat in pieces across my living room! I would have been less shocked if it hadn’t been the first time our three year old cockapoo had ever chewed anything to pieces! Would repurchase it a more durable mat was offered!
Did not see any result as a soother, instead it's was chewed as very soft and thin material. Felt it was a waste of money, this occurred on first use and was pulled apart in the timescale of myself leaving the room to grab something and returning instantly. My dog is small to give you an idea of how thin the item is.
It's an ok product. Heard about these lick mats and wanted to give them a try. Disappointed. Nightmare to clean, even dishwasher didn't clean them properly. You've really got to scrub them and limited to foods they can have
I have given stars because it's made considering quality. But i was extremely disappointed because they have sent me a wrong color. I chose lime green but they have sent orange. Anyhow, i am keeping it because its very useful.
She loves the mat but of I leave her with it by herself she start chewing it and has already broken the corners as it's made of soft rubber. Good soothing item but for big dogs I would have used a stronger and stiff rubber
