To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
We use these with the 0 gauge thomas the train set we got on craigslist. We have also used fast track with a Christmas setup. They are a little bit of a pain to get together, but the plastic ballast makes sure it doesn't warp or bend if you don't have them nailed down. Works alright on thin carpet.
This year we have super-sized our Christmas train track to over 60 pieces of track. To lessen the chances of dead spots on your track, I suggest that you crimp the center connection slightly to make a tighter fit. The best way I found to do it was using an adjustable needles nose pliers (vise grips) and start to adjoin the two pieces of track. With the center prong started crimp down the female sections. With the pieces partially inserted it's less likely to over crimp the part. If you do you can just use a small screw driver to open it back up.
We bought two sets of these to make a fun circle just for my son to play with the cars he has. He’s in love with trains and it’s really fun to just let him play with his train sets and not even have it hooked up to power. Quality is good they are great.
