These are just ok for cutting fabric - but at $15 or so, you should know that. They are shaped perfectly for cutting applique fabric without removing from the hoop or distorting the fabric/stabilizer, but the fabric needs to be pretty thin. I see some reviewers are knocking off stars for this and commenting that they went and got a pair of name-brand top of the line scissors "instead". No. Those others are $50-$75 - they simply aren't the same thing. Think of these as your go-to thread cutting scissors and you will be happy as a lark.

Maybe I am biased, however, I feel as if my pair was used before I received it. It did not have a factory polish and was scuffed up, and came with some fuzz from what looked to be felt in between the blades up by the screw.
