I have an array of knifes from shun to wustoff to Kuhn rink on .. for the cheaper end of 30 this knife is fantastic one of the best weighted fir me personally has enougth weight in it to cut veg good (were some of the light weight /Japanese knife fall short but is also light enougth to use for hours on end comfortably and sag dice cut onion . The retention is good I use my steel on it maybe once every 4-5 hours of use it's gets sharp. My wustoff are only the other knife I manage to get sharper but fir 30 pound this is a good all round knife and I would recommend it as a first knife . Handle is probably best Iv used tbh onfiryable and fits hand well

My parents' 1948 vintage bone handled carving fork finally went to that great dinner service in the sky. Selecting one that did the job was difficult given the bewildering choice available. Following the old maxim of buy cheap and buy it twice, I went for this one. It is robust and well balanced and holds the joint in any chosen position without deviation. The drawback is that it is not dishwasher safe so whoever is in charge of washing up has to be supervised. Nevertheless, I do recommend this product. It is worth the money.

I have an old set of Salter ProSharp knives that I love and really wanted to get another of the paring knives, but sadly Salter don’t make them any more. I was delighted to find these however as they looked the same online and have proved to be IDENTICAL once ordered too (barring the branding). I’ve no idea of the back story, and why the same knives are now sold under a different brand, but can definitely vouch for them being great knives. I intend to keep mine for life (with a little sharpening now and again, natch).

I've had enough of cheap knives that chip and need constant sharpening, but I also couldn't justify the high priced Japanese/German knives. I chose this knife because I heard culinary schools in California used them so I figured it would be a good workhorse that wouldn't need constant babying. I'm also not a fan of light knives as I like the weight of the knife to help with the chopping and slicing. This knife is nice and hefty, although if you have small hands it may get tiring if you need to do a lot of chopping.

I've only had it a week so far but out of the package it is amazing. Look how thin the slice of saucisson is! I'll update this review in the future about how often and how easy/hard it is to keep a sharp edge on the blade.

This is the first knife I have bought that has costed over £10. The difference in sharpness between this and cheaper knives is incredible. It slices through almost everything I take to it with very minimal effort and speeds up the preparation process of cooking.

I use it multiple evenings a week and so far have not noticed a reduction in sharpness yet, though I have also purchased a whetstone for when I do need to touch it up.

One caveat is that I did not realise how long 10 inches is. The blade is incredibly long and if you aren't used to having longer blades I would suggest the more standard 8 inch edition.
