Care and handling of Millennia cutlery
The performance of a knife can be diminished if not cared for properly.
Cutlery should never be washed in a dishwasher because intense heat and harsh detergents may cause the handle to deteriorate. Carefully wash by hand with soap and warm water, rinse and dry with a soft towel. Do not soak or submerge in water for long periods of time or use chlorine bleach because it can pit and discolor the blade. Avoid soaking in aluminum or stainless steel sinks because these metals may cause pitting on the blade.
Store in a cutlery block or sheath to preserve the cutting edges and prevent injuries.

And in use it is fantastic, no doubt. It's well balanced in the hand, the handle is ordinary looking but comfortable and grippy. And boy does it cut. It bites into the bread crust well, and from there it cuts effortlessly and smoothly. And whereas my previous (cheap Scanpan) bread knife made an almighty mess with bread crumbs everywhere, this one leaves about 1/4 of the crumbs. And the rounded tip lets me spread butter on the freshly cut bread more quickly. The only thing I'd improve is I'd buy one even longer next time for my big loaves.
If you want a fancy-looking knife, this isn't it. Check with your bank manager and buy a Shun for almost 10x this price. But if you want a top-class knife that cuts as well as anything, look no further. I'm in love with my knife and baking more bread than I need just so I can cut it. And no-one can stop me, mwa-ha-ha-haaaaaaa!
Couple of small things:
I find that it "pulls" to the right as I am cutting, however It's been great once I take this into account.
The blade is a little thick at the top, possibly for stiffness but I'm not sure.
Even with these couple of points it's been fantastic for everything from tomatoes to very crusty bread, cutting without crushing. Would recommend for sure

I bake round sourdough loaves regularly, so I need a good long knife. This is 10 inches roughly, which is just what I need.
It also has fewer teeth than some and they are pointed. Fewer teeth has been shown to cut bread better. It cuts superbly, both heavy crusts and soft crusts. And the wide blade makes it easy to control.
Overall, I am very happy - and I saved myself seventy quid!!!!
Overall, Im extremely happy I bought this and wish I had done so earlier. If your looking for a bread knife that cuts through all kinds of breads with ease at a reasonable price, this should be on your shortlist.
