Cannot recommend, and will return this. Would be also doubtful to buy the new model if the promised battery life is 25% less AS BRAND NEW. I might understand that battery life can go down after one year, but not as a new product. Or maybe mine was a broken one...
So beware and check your battery life immediately when you buy, so there is no surprises
Unfortunately, the product fails to deliver on all counts. The user experience is totally unintuitive and the battery life is terrible. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to use it, I've left it in a drawer where it belongs.
The Mighty has been a disappointment from day one. First of all, it didn't charge - it turns out that for some unknown reason the Mighty will only charge with certain chargers, so it's no use trying to buy your own replacement. This meant having to go back to Mighty to ask for a replacement. Customer service was OK - they were quite defensive but to be fair to them they did eventually provide a replacement charger.
The app is poorly made and definitely not user friendly. To do anything on the app you have to connect the Mighty to bluetooth (which takes an age) and it also has to reconnect to your wifi (which takes an age). It feels quite clunky. Ideally, you'd want to be able to add playlists and sync as and when. This is probably what was intended, but because the Mighty and the wifi take a long time to connect via the app it ends up being a chore to do this, as opposed to simply a couple of quicks. Also, it often takes a while for the app to remember your spotify login.
What's been more disappointing is that there are issues in connecting to my bluetooth earphones. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Very frustrating. I spent an hour of my Sunday today trying to get to the bottom of the issues to no avail. Just about ready to put it in a drawer and never turn it on again!
The final straw for me was trying to look at the website to fix it and the website kept taking me back to home page!! Ugh...
In short, someone's had a great idea, but they've failed to execute it. Frankly, I'm disappointed Spotify signed off on this because it is a shoddy product and my life would've been better off if I hadn't bought it!
Hab mir dann einen kleinen MP3 Player zulegt, prima Sache aber immer die gleiche Mucke zuhören nervt irgendwann.
Beim "Googeln" bin ich dann auf den Mighty gestossen. Mir ist es ein Rätsel warum noch nicht mehr Spotifyjünger das Teil haben.
Die dazugehörige App ist genial, ruckzuck alles eingerichtet. MIt dem Klang bin ich absolut zufrieden, obwohl ich einen billigen BT Kopfhörer habe.
Hoffe für die Startup Firma dass der Player bald Standard wird :-). Also ich werde positiv Werbung dafür machen. 5 x Daumen hoch :-).
Four months after arriving the battery started losing charge very quickly. Now despite being fully charged and having been left on charge for the recommended time the Mighty powers up then immediately powers down despite being 100% charged.
The support form Mighty has been poor and has not resolved the issue. I don't think they want to. The only solution that has been offered is to reset the device. I have to reset it multiple times until it works and does not power off after starting.
For instance, last night I trained using a Wattbike for a 90 minute session. I performed 17 resets until the device decided it would remain powered on. This was over thirty minutes after the training session started.
Personally, I would not buy the product again.
I treat it as a tiny Sony Walkman. I load an album up before I set off walking to work. I leave the smartphone at home and take my old Nokia for any vital communication.
