The tool is well built and sturdy, the barrel shape makes it easy to handle. Not fast, nor strong, but precise and easier to use for tight curved cuts. To avoid chipping during 90 degrees cuts, the tool has a zero clearance plate at the blade. Haven't tried other angles than 90, but the mechanism works well. I've cut through maple a whole afternoon making identical pieces, I only used one 1.5 ah batt.
Overall extremely satisfied by this transaction and tool
This is definitely one of my favorite tools that I use the most often! And for a saw it's relatively safe to use! Cuts just about anything! And this M12 version is built like a tank! It must way ten pounds but the weight makes it very stable and easy to cut with. I also have a M12 portable band saw that is awesome and cuts metal like butter! But I wouldn't let my wife use that but I will let her use this jig saw with no worry. This and the multitool are a couple of the most versatile tools you'll ever own.
Probably the easiest jig saw to use on the market imho. It might not be the biggest and baddest, but it'll put in the work. I've cut out a ton with this thing.... Including hardwood flooring for vents, hardibacker boards, and rockboard on the side of a house for ventilation as well as a manufactured homes with rockboard for underside, so TONS of dust and gunk that can probably kill this thing, but it has never died or hiccuped once.
Only thing that did happen to me, while cutting rockboard, the blade somehow started cutting the plastic guide and running its own route, which was 2 second fix, but might have been from me pushing to hard, or turning to fast.etc, didn't harm the function of t he saw so its fine.
Already owning several high-capacity M12 batteries for other Milwaukee cordless tools makes it really easy to get a top-quality tool like the Jig saw at a modest cost. Everything works and it has a great feel in your hand. It is powerful and the absence of a power cord is really wonderful when following a scrolling cut without worrying about dragging a cord into the blade. Roller guide keeps the blade in place and there is good visibility of the cut with a really helpful light on the work. The M12 system with brushless motors has amazing long-lasting power without the weight and bulk of higher voltage tool families.
great saw for lighter work. I did have to remove the clear plastic guard to see the cut line better. Would be nice if it had a dust blower pointed at blade. But all in all very good saw and will serve its purpose well.
