I bought two of these cables and one of them does not work. Looks like a poor solder job on one connection. Amazon would not replace it and the Monoprice website would not accept my Amazon order number to make a claim, and I couldn’t through on their phone line. Basically I am out of my money and got a broken cable. Do not buy.
It looked fine, but induced noise right out of the box. If I can't return it I'll look at the soldering joints. There is an arrow on the cable and if it indicates the signal direction, then it was made backwards. Would not buy again, keep browsing.
This cable broke the release mechanism in my MixPre-6 recorder channel input. Now it's stuck and I must have the unit mailed and serviced for who knows how much time and money (potentially hundreds). This cable may work fine for others, but for me this cable is worse than garbage. It may leave you with a broken input like it did me. Don't say I didn't warn you.
UPDATE: Quote from the Sound Devices Repair Summary, "XLR shell on cable was slightly out-of-round, which caused the problem (It would get stuck in other XLR jacks)"
