ORIGINAL 3 STAR REVIEW: The stands are built well and hold my speakers fine... However the pictures and description state that there should be cable management holes that allow you to feed the wires through the pipe. Mine don't have ANY holes, so I had to run the wire behind the back. Some velcro came with it to hold the cables to the pipe, which tells me, they probably aren't making these with cable management holes anymore. A little disappointed. Perhaps this listing needs updating.
UPDATED REVIEW: The company contacted me to make things right and apologize, which was great. I got a partial refund and they have updated their listing. The new stands indeed no longer house the speaker holes, but the stands still worked great for me and with the provided velcro straps, you can hardly see the wires at all. 4 starts for the product, the 5th star is for the customer service!
My speakers are relatively tall so I have to extend the holding bracket on these mounts as far out as it will go. I am able to fasten the stand bracket to the keyhole slot on the top-back of the speakers with the included kit. However, I could not figure out how to fasten the bottom of my speaker to the bracket with any of the included items. The speakers were insecurely fastened to the stand at this point so I just zip tied them to the bracket. They are stable now. I have the Edifier P17 speakers - I don't believe this stand would be able to handle anything larger than those.
We were looking for a way to mount the Google Home. We had previously purchased two of these wall mounts: HumanCentric Google Home Mount | Custom Wall Mount for the Google Home
and my husband was thinking of making stands himself out of wood, instead of mounting them on the wall. However, it would have been a lot of work and would have cost more than buying this package. The stands are beautifully made and readily adaptable with almost any small speaker system. It was very easy to attach the mounts to the speakers... and now the Google Home speakers are mobile throughout the house. For the price it's the best purchase we have made in a long time!
So, these didn't fit my speakers... But it's kinda my fault for not doing my research. I bought these after reading reviews about how versatile the mounting options are, figuring that my speakers have keyhole mounts so they should be fine. Wrong! The problem was that my rear surround speakers are actually bookshelf style and were too big for the mounting mechanism to reach even with the optional extender bar provided. Whoops.
That said, I was still able to use the stands, but, and it makes me cringe to say this, I actually used some spare screws I had to drill directly into the bottom of my wood frame speakers that weren't designed for it. Now thankfully it worked out great but it could have gone very wrong. Still, it was my own choice to take that risk and so I won't dock stars for it since I don't think it would be fair to do so, but I think it's important to note so others can learn from my (in)experience.
Excellent product for the price with a few shortcomings. The maximum distance from the keyhole to the speaker base is 8", not 8.7" as described in the product description. The round speaker holder is rimmed and doesn't provide a good contact area to the speaker base unless you screw it to the speaker base. I wish it was either flat or there was a rubber pad on it thus holding the speaker in place, the current design makes the speaker slide forward a bit. I put some some adhesive tape underneath and it is holding well.
Because the speakers I have, the distance from keyhole to the base is 8.5", I had to use the horizontal bar provided to extend it and for that reason I had to use both the screws for one stand. I contacted the Mounting Dream team and they were quite understanding and generous enough to send me an extra pack of nuts to complete the installation.
I would recommend this product.
EDIT: Less than three weeks of use, one of the speaker stands just broke from the base, just above the threaded section. It was behind the sofa, it fell on the sofa and then crashed to the floor. Luckily I wasn't on the sofa, otherwise it would have caused a head injury. My speaker now has a few scratches and the speaker cables got pulled off. I would not recommend this product. Do yourself a favour and pay more for quality stands. I am returning these and would stay away from this brand/seller.
EDIT: I changed my rating to 3 star as I am quite happy and impressed with their customer service. They contacted me after reading my review and offered me compensation for the damaged speaker which has already been remitted to my account. They also promised to improve their design and come up with a better product. It is a rare thing to see someone going out of the way to satisfy their customers. I would definitely keep them on my list of favourite sellers.
Very easy to assemble. Sturdy and quality components. Attractive. hides wires is main reason i bought this version over others. Zig you have limited floor space or need to place this in tight quarters this won’t be for you as square base is rather large but I have this in high traffic area and it should stand it’s ground very well without toppling over if nudged it hit. Very pleased with purchase and outstanding speed of delivery... ordered saturday arrived sunday morning before 12 pm.
Got these speaker stands for the satellite speakers on the Vizio SB3651. Just spent over an hour setting them up, and it should have taken maybe 20 minutes at most. The assembly instructions omit any mention of the fact that the part marked "J" is adjustable, and when you are using these stands with a speaker that has one recessed hole, you can adjust that part so the hole in the top of it aligns with the hole in the back of the speaker.
I know you're saying, "Well, DUH." But that kind of thing isn't obvious to me, and likely I'm not the only one.
Also, the stated requirement for an electric drill in order to assemble these speaker stands turns out not to be real, thank g-d. Holy guacamole, Mounting Dream people, can you put a link to a video or something? Once we figured out the secret of the movable "J" things went smoothly, but it would have taken like one sentence or a picture with arrows to make that clear at the outset.
I was very excited for these and stated in the comments they worked well with Sonos One. Well they don’t. Sonos one does not have a mounting screw hole, and you definitely aren’t drilling a hole in them. Unfortunately I ordered two sets, modified the heck out of one so they had lips at the top and bottom, and returned the other set as soon as it got to my door. WORK WITH SONOS, and an additional mounting lip so they are secure
Update* amazing customer service. 100 recommend this company for their great service. Keep in mind Sonos 1 works but not Sonos “one” with these.
I used for Sonos Play 1s. The included screws are too long for the plastic spacer in the back (or spacer is too short) so I used a few included washers included to make it snug. The speaker just sits on the stand and is "secured" with the one screw in the back. The entire stand seems sturdy and base is heavy therefore not easy to tip over.
Some trial and error with spacing/adjustment to get the speaker to sit centre on the pole.
I chose these because of good price and they are height adjustable a bit higher up than most others I have seen. I needed them to stick up behind our couch.
