We have a tall 2 1/2 year old, I don't know if that is why the splash guard doesn't keep pee from splashing on the floor but it is definitely not as effective as his frog potty chair. He has to sit way far back on the chair or scrunch way up front and squish his legs together to keep the floor dry. We love everything else about the chair. The step stool lid is great, it has a solid base when he stands on it to wash his hands and he can easily climb on and off. It just needs a higher splash guard.
I bought this potty based on its good reviews, but I find it difficult for my 2yr to sit on it.it took me a long time to realize the reason why he didnt wanted to sit on the potty, was because the cover is hard plastic ne,t time i will try one with foam cover.
I like the shape and lightweightness of this seat. However, my son wasn't able to climb on top by himself until about 18 months because it is too high (and he is tall for his age). I also dislike that the lid and bowl come off so easily, as he mostly likes to take it apart and drag the pieces around the house. I've never used the wipes or wipe holder. The bowl is very small, so, for a boy, even with the splash guard, it's easier for him to sit and pee out rather than down and into the bowl. And he can't go #2 on it, as there isn't enough space without it getting on the back part of the seat. We like the on-toilet lid much better.
I like the set up and style of the potty itself, also that you can use it for the big toilet as well and use it as a step stool. Unfortunately when using as a stepstool, you really have to watch out, since it is pretty slippery. I do like the arm and hammer air freshener, which stays perfectly in place, if you put it in the right hole (there are two, if you put it in the wrong one it will fall out). One thing though really disappointed me. On one picture it shows how you can place the munchkin flushable wipes on the side of the potty, but when i opened the box and looked at it, there was no place for it to put it. I dont know if i have to buy that part seperate? And than one last negative thing, the description says, the potty comes with one air freshener (which i received) and one 36-pack of munchkins flushable wipes but i have never received the wipes. I triple checked the amazon box and potty box, nothing. So i guess they never sent that out :(
I thought this would be great for starting my two year old in potty training. It is a great set-up, but my son would rather use the grown up toilet. It is great that they made it into a step stool because that is what my son uses it for.
