I recently ordered this on a lightning deal. It’s a good enough knife for the money, but I was expecting more based on the reviews here. If you haven’t tried a high quality knife before, sure, go for this. If you’ve used a Wusthof, Global, etc. I doubt you’ll find this too exciting. While I haven’t used those brands, my regular is a Spain made Henckel, which is better than this Paudin.
The Paudin is well packaged, and has a reasonable hand feel, though I feel the handle is on the light side. I’d have preferred more substance to the handle.
Am I unhappy / disappointed with it? No.
Am I blown away by it? No.
You get what you pay for.

I really enjoyed this product! I was looking to replace an old chefs knife cause after repeated sharpening...it’s starting to wear. After comparing and research, this was within budget and the product was reputable enough for me to make a purchase. Item arrived within the prime delivery time frame and since I’ve been able to enjoy using this to process the raw meats in the household. I would definitely recommend people to give this a try.

I'll offer a first hand, First view unbiased opinion regarding the Paudin Chef knife,
It is well balanced.
It is extremely sharp.
It may hold onto fast slicing with items holding onto the blade.
I don't think the steel is one piece flowing into the handle.
It is capped at the handle.
I've scratched 1mm deep into the handle and it's not wood it's good strong plastic of some sort.
Is it worth the $20 in Aussie ?
I'd say yes...certainly.
Standard home use without cutting Pumpkin weekly should see longevity.
Not bad at all for $20.

I suspect many of the positive reviews are from those who don't know much about knives. It's not a bad knife but it's far too heavy to be used for anything that requires too much finesse. I took a risk at the price and now I know why. It still cuts things though...so yeah, technically does its job.

Have been using it for like a week now and it becomes my favourite. The best thing about it is the steel. I don't need to sharp it everytime I use it. It will stay sharp for a long time. Moreover, with the good handle shape, you can use it for a long time with hurting palm. The knife also has weight to it to make it balance. Great knife to have around.

Its a great knife for the money, however some things to note:

The patterning is just laser engraved, not a property of the steel.
The patterning is not as pronounced in person.

Appears to have come with a decent edge, and the handle is comfortable and nice to use, it was packaged well and I believe it is worth the $25-30 AUD.
