I have had this for almost a year and it is like another limb. I hated how i had no control over the volume of my applications and whenever i wanted to turn something down i would have to go into the volume mixer. This thing paired with either Midi Mixer or Power Mixer is actually the goat. I would reccomend Midi Mixer because it is easier to use than power mixer but i have no faults with either Both applications are free and I would say the €45 is worth it If you need to turn down discord or the game volume its right at your finger tips. 10/10
I bought this MIDI controller to use with GrandMA2 onPC as a way to live control lights.
Setting up this controller took some time, as it outputs CC values instead of Note's. GrandMA2 onPC does not support CC values, so using MIDI-OX and LoopBe1 I had to convert these to Note's, which worked.
Now, I set it up to control the faders on Executor page 1.
It works perfectly, and for the price it is a really good product.
This is a great tool for the money and it does what I need but the 50mm faders are a bit short for me. It will be great to throw in the bag to do things on the go but I would like longer faders for the studio. All the controllers with longer faders (I have seen) are significantly more expensive than this so this is great if you are on a low budget.
I got this to use as a mixer controller for fl studio. If you are doing this DO NOT download the Korg drivers. All you need to do is set the NanoKontrol 2 to Cubase mode. Then you select it in Fl studio as mackie control rather than Nanokontrol 2 in the midi settings. Works superbly after that. Transport controls, faders, mute, solo and record arm all work.
This came in really handy when I was doing a project at uni mixing sound for video, helped speed up the workflow and just generally a lot more interesting to use than messing around with a mouse and moving faders on individual channels. Obviously not as good as something with motorised faders, but you will be looking to pay at least 10 times the price for that luxury. This is great value for money and easy to set up.
This is a very good product. It was easy to setup, construction looks solid enough and the size is truly great for a small space or for carrying around.
However, I bought it primarily for mixing in Cubase 5 and after hours upon hours of searching the web I can't find a solution to the simplest problem: as soon as you touch a fader on the Nanokontrol, the Cubase fader simply jumps to that value. This completely invalidates this device as a mixing controller.
I've read that other programs have a catch-up feature in which the value in the software fader doesn't move until the physical fader hits that value and then the physical fader sort of "catches" the virtual one. But Cubase doesn't appear to have this feature.
So, great piece of hardware, but do check if it's appropriate for the use you want to give it and the software you'll be working with.
Its good, buy one and combine with "Power mixer" for addressable volume control.
Midi device so it can be programmed to do anything. Bet you could play Mario bros if you cared enough to programme it.
The buttons on the left don't have a very nice feel and the toggle option in the provided software doesn't seem to work in the programmes I'm using. I haven't actually tried it with a DAC but I imagine the support is much better with one.
I have tried everything on my pc & it wont work, even watching you tube videos & am not alone. I hear I would have to delete my usb drivers so it will work. its off to ebay. sure it works on some pc systems
