I ordered these hoping that the calf width would be what I would need. Well... that little buckle at the top is really for decoration and not intended for actual function. They are very tight in the calf - but in the foot they are the most comfortable pair of rainboots - well, shoes - that I own! That is why I am keeping them. They serve their purpose. They are rainboots. Waterproof and the herring bone pattern isnt obnoxious. Its very tasteful. The boots run a little big - so order down in size if you have small calves. Order your regular size if you have larger calves.
I love these. They are utilitarian without looking so ugly. I live on an open water bay and I love these for my nature walks and birding. They keep my feet warm and dry. I ordered my usual shoe size and they fit large enough to put on thick, cushiony socks with them without feeling pinched. If you wear thin socks, go a 1/2 size smaller than your normal shoe size.
Is it me, or are all rain boots just SO freaking uncomfortable?! I have never found a pair that are comfortable to walk in for any amount of time. If I just had to stand around with my feet in them they'd be great!... The moving around part sucks though. I had to buy them for a wedding that I'm in, "April showers.." theme... the bride wants them for pictures. At least they weren't that expensive.
My daughter needed something to wear when working with Horses at her riding club. When she's not riding and doing chores she needed to keep her riding boots out of the muck. The boots they sell at Saddlery stores are $100 and there is essentially no difference between those boots and these. She loves them and I love the price! As a bonus, these boots are stylish and cute on her feet. All the girls at the barn asked here where she got them. Great deal, we highly recommend them.
I LOVE these boots! I have searched for the past year for rain boots and was quite surprised at how expensive a good pair could cost. I read people's reviews before I buy any item. I took a chance on buying the size "9' because I wear an 8.5 shoe. The boot with a light sock was too big for me. However, I took the advice of other shoppers and bought the rain boot liner sock to wear in the boot. My feet are super cozy with the sock and the boots fit perfectly now. I think your feet would get mighty cold without a good sock. There are many styles and colors to choose from but I finally decided to go with the grey Herringbone. I was pleasantly surprised that the boot looks better than the pictures. This boot looks classy. There is enough room to tuck your pants in if you wish. I am very pleased with these boots and hope they last a long time. Now....living in California, I have to pray for rain to show off my great boots! : )
