Out of the box, the look is wonderful. Plum in XS; love the color, and many compliments on it so far. Great windbreaker, length is good; fits well over thick tailor-fit fleece and fine without. I'm curvy, but if my hips were any wider, hipline might be a bit tight when worn over fleece. Sleeves are abt. 2.5" too long for me; on an XS would want them to be 1-2" shorter, but story of my life. I'm 5' tall, 115#, and *every* sleeve always somewhat too long for me. W/the adjustable Velcro wrist closure, sleeves fit w/ just a little bunching above wrist . Zip vents work well so far; I have two bum wrists right now, but still able to open/close each one with a single hand; smooth zip action. I'm cold-natured but sensitive to heating up in layers w/exertion. The jacket held up well to the "breathability" test on uphill/downhill fast walks; I really noticed the consistent temp maintained (with vents open). Bought for long walks in cool/windy/often-rainy climate in which 4 seasons can present in any given day. Will update review at a later date!
I really do LOVE THIS jacket. Typically I have a hard time with jackets fitting around my shoulders and bust, this surprisingly fit perfect and roomy up top,its a great thin material jacket but still high quality for rain. My only complaint is the fit around the bottom, its a bit tight at the bottom where it hits your hips, as this is a womans jacket I was suprised they wouldnt make the cut more roomy in the upper hip area at the bottom of the jacket. It still works and will be perfect for my upcoming vacation to Costa Rica.
It fits tight. I usually wear a large so I bought an XL and it is a pinch snug. It's also heavier than I expected. I won't be wearing it until July in Scotland, however I'm worried I may be too warm. It is excellent quality though and I like the look and feel. I would recommend you buy a size larger than normal.
Arms are a little longer than I expected, although, my daughter may have needed a smaller size. She wanted a little room to wear a sweater underneath so I ordered a size up. She usually wears an extra-small; I ordered a small.
So far it has done well in the color as a shell over 4 layers, 3 of them being down. I don't know how it will perform in warmer temps (warm, rainy hikes) bc the fabric doesn't appear to be the MOST breathable waterproof material I've come across. Will update.
I purchased a 2XX because I'm a bit chesty and have broad shoulders. The fit was good for the shoulders, but just a bit snug in the chest. If I wear anything thicker than a T-shirt I can't zip up all the way. I gave it a test run in a big storm, and it kept me perfectly dry. Over all, I am very pleased with my choice. The color is great and the vents are very effective, as I tend to warm up quickly when walking. I bought this to wear on a trip to Scotland-something light but dry. I believe I chose well. I would recommend this item highly.
I love the jacket but I am glad I got a larger size then I needed yo will want to layer up with this coat. Great wind and rain protection but no warmth to it. It's just a shell which I expected and do love it.
I am 5' 2' and 110 lb and asked for a S which was perfect. It covers almost all of your rear. The Velcro wristbands are very useful. The hood has a soft elastic band attached inside that makes it fists perfect and keep your forehead dry when raining. I used this jacket when camping and hiking in rainy days and It worked perfect in light rain. But when being exposed to heavier rain for several hours, the jacket was a little wet inside. My recommendation is that this jacket will be perfect as urban jacket for rainy days, or even for outside activities if the rain is not that heavy or you are not exposed to it for many hours. But if you are looking for a jacket that guarantees keeping you dry in heavier rain I suggest to spend a more money and to buy some one with Gore-Tex technology, also breathable and 100% waterproof.
