This jacket is NOT durable. It will NOT endure every-day use for very long. But for occasional use, it may be what you want. It is completely waterproof and windproof. It weights almost nothing -- exactly 4.73 ounces on my scale -- and packs into a small space. I keep it in my fanny pack all the time. I use it for wind/cold protection riding down the mountain in the late afternoons, and for those occasional soaking summer thunderstorms. My problem with other light-weight jackets, (including my old REI model which lasted years) is that they are wind-resistant, but NOT really waterproof. Riding down a mountain while soaking wet is miserable. This jacket does the job for a reasonable period, at a reasonable price. If you are riding in wet/cold climates regularly, or need something to wear daily, or need a jacket that can breath, you will want to get something much more durable.
Addendum - June 2017: The second jacket I purchased last season (March 2016) is now falling apart after light use. The cuff of one sleeve has totally ripped out, and the fabric has several other rips from minor encounters with brush on the trail. I know how cheap these things are, and I am very careful with it. But, well, this is really not a durable material.
When I bought the first one of these jackets three years ago, the price was twenty-two bucks. The second one I purchased sold for around twenty-seven. Cheap. At that lower price, I was willing to treat this as a "one season and toss it" item. But at the current price, this jacket is simply not worth buying. I have now purchased a much nicer and more durable jacket for around fifty-five bucks -- more money, yes, but at least it will endure for more than a season without ripping apart. ( Pearl Izumi - Ride Men's Elite Barrier Jacket, Large, True Red/Black ) Look around at other options, and don't bother buying this O2 jacket at the current price of around thirty-five bucks -- I say that based on using this jacket for several seasons. Works while it works, and then rips apart. At the current price, invest in something better
