It does a bloody good job, don't get me wrong - carves through spuds like wine through a dipso - but is a bit fiddly to get clean again.
Also instructions is very poor to understand when it come to operation. But it’s handy to have one of this in the kitchen.
I have been searching for a slicer for a long time until my wife cut her finger when slicing potatoes. I bought this product right away from amazon. It is a saver for us. We love it very much!

Once you get your head round the basic principles this device is really easy to use. It's sturdy and feels well-constructed - I knoew it's a little pricier than some other veg slicers, but with many kitchen gadgets the law of "buy cheap, buy twice" applies here and this slicer is built to last. It doesn't wobble and there's no wrestling to make it work - it's always nice when things do exactly what they're supposed to without loads of fuss.
It's really easy to clean, folds away into an easily stowable shape and fun to use. In fact it does look like a toy, but if it can make my wife feel like she's playing rather than stressing out over the hard graft of chopping a carrot with a knife... well, job done, eh?
My first trial was a small baking potato, which fitted whole into the chute. The chopper made short work of turning it into chips, it needed none of the elbow grease that I've had to use with conventional mandolines. The chips were very small, though, even on the thickest settings.
The second experiment was on salad, with half a carrot and a cucumber turned into juliennes, as thin as possible. This again worked well, but bits of carrot got trapped inside and were difficult to clean out (which is why I've knocked off one star - it's not as easy as just rinsing under the tap). The carrot stained the white plastic but the instructions tell you what to use to clean it (I haven't tried that yet).
The chopper and all its parts seem to be very well made and sturdily built - time will tell, of course. It's far better than any of the other veg choppers I've tried, and probably less of a pain to clean too. It does take up a fair amount of storage space.
The 6 page instruction booklet is clear, written in (good) English and illustrated with photographs.
If you're looking for a veg chopper, this is the one to go for.
Best of all, it means that my teenagers have got no excuses now for not helping with the cooking – I think this is pretty safe and relatively fool proof :-)
Relatively easy to clean too – you just swish it out under the tap reasonably vigourously after you’ve used it.
Wouldn’t want to live without it now- total game changer.
