Hi All,
I have had a few third party usb c cables that claim to be good for the quest 2 using the usb Type A ports and to be honest third party cables can't hold a candle to the offical oculus fiber optic cable for oclus link.
The main benefits are you head set will charge and it will charge fast, how ever you need a REAL usb c port on your computer NOT AN ADAPTER I do think alot of the issue with people having problem are before there computer is not up to date, mainly there MOTHERBOARD if you have cheaped out on the motherboard in you PC built, you will most likely not be able to use this cable. Only get this cable IF YOU HAVE A MODERN MOTHERBOARD that is decent with usb c ports on the back.
Over all I am blown away how good the quality of graphics are now that oculus link are out of beta and the link cable shines, you want PC gaming to be lag free this is your cable handsdown but only if your PC has a USB C port, if you don't have that don't bother getting this untill you upgrade you motherboard or buy a pcie usb c port card.
This cable is for people that don't cheap out on motherboards and get the latest IO on there boards.
I have also tested this cable out on a macbook pro 16 inch intel in bootcamp windows and works great too.

Basically a waste of money. VR ready PC does not recognise Oculus Quest 2 as being connected - via USB C port which tests ok with mem stick. Does not recognise headset being connected via working USB 3.0 port with C-A adapter. Get the genuine article they said :( no Steam yet. Virtual Desktop sideloaded to Sidequest isnt recognising the headset on the wireless network either. Painful process to go through, especially trawling forums for fixes, which this cable was supposed to mitgate.

"Is it worth the premium" is probably what you're looking to answer. After sitting on the fence for a while and using a shorter third-party cable I took the plunge. I think it was worth it. The cable is very good quality, quite light and flexible which helps reduce the drag of being tethered to a PC. Works great as you'd expect but I guess it's a quality of life purchase rather than a necessity when there are other much cheaper cables on the market that will do the job. Still, highly recommended.

Not sure what the deal with this product is - and alot of online posts seem to indicate others have this issue - but this doesn't seem to work well using it with a usb c to usb a adapter the software doesn't detect the oculus being plugged in - plugging it directly into the usb c port in my pc it keeps connecting and disconnecting - however using a 3rd party cable works perfectly - for the minor benefit of charging while playing at a very slow pace it would be better to look at cheaper options to avoid the headache

Pro :
- Light & length is long enough to power the Quest 2 for far more than 2 hours of gaming/movies watching (most important)
- Charging is possible quite fast if you connect it to any USB-C 3.x port.
- Great performance on PCVR gaming using Oculus Link.
Con :
- A bit high on price.

I’ve tried other cheaper cables but none are able to charge the headset like this cable can.Plus I get the best GBPs 2.7.Would highly recommend paying the extra for the quality.

Did not connect into quest 2 securely, would disconnectfrom pc when moving or adjusting headset. Returned still no refund? Aftermarket usb3 connection was much more secure.

I bought the expensive official cable so that if PC Link worked badly and I criticised it in reviews, the fan boys couldn't ride shotgun for Oculus by saying "ah but you used a cheap cable".
As it happens, it does work well! I did the speed test and it came back at 2.1 to 2.2gbps or whatever the unit of measurement was.
It doesn't click nicely into the port on my PC but does when I plug that end into the Quest 2. Yet other cables do click firmly into my PC. So I've strapped it to other cables coming out of my PC so that it doesn't get nudged out.
It works well. This is a review of the cable and not PC Link but the image quality is impeccable and the latency is no different to playing natively on the Quest 2's build in CPU.
Being tethered isn't ideal but it's a lot better than the triple thickness cable on the Vive. If you use your brain, you can put the cable over your shoulder and down your back in such a way that it doesn't inhibit game play. I tend to turn with the pad anyway so I'm always facing in one direction (in the real world) and the cable behind me has no impact.
One thing to note, the battery still drains when playing with this cable. The USB port can't provide enough power to run the headset so some drain will occur, only no where near as great when running on battery alone.
It doesn't get a 5 star review due to the disgraceful pricing, but would if half the price.

well I wasnt expecting much from this, but maybe I was expecting too much. Well got the cable well packaged and delivered when advised. Took the cable out and whilst I knew it was usb c at both ends from the images (who thought that was a good idea?) I was expecting there to be a suitable adapter so it could be plugged into a USB3 port. Guess what, there wasnt, so I have a nice cable that I cant use as I dont have a usb c port on my pc without buying an adapter

is it worth the price? No. Plus I needed to install a USB-C card in my pc. I actually get a better experience using virtual desktop software for playing my PC VR games to the quest 2. On the plus side, it does charge and 90hz will hopefully come once out of beta for the cable. But even so, 89 for a cable is bonkers. A good usb-a cable seems to work well enough, try that first.

This is one of those things where you get what you pay for. Having bought a cheaper alternative that claims it's "This is the next best alternative to the official Oculus Quest Link Cable." I can categorically state that it isn't. In this case there's nothing better than the genuine article. I know it's not the cheapest but there's a reason for that. If you want to enjoy your expensive Oculus Quest 2 headset on a PC you'll want to get this cable. You can always try the WiFi 6 method but that's another kettle of fish altogether.

Get a high quality router and Virtual Desktop for the same price and enjoy a fully wireless experience or buy the cheaper Anker cable for £30. This cable works great, but no better than other solutions.
