I spooled it up with 4lb braid and next day took it to a local lake. Flicked in a lure and felt it get hammered. Ended up pulling out a 40cm tilapia. The little C-10 handled the fish with ease. Absolutely no trouble at all. I already have the Ceymar C-25 so I knew the C-10 would be a good reel but it pretty much exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend this reel for anyone wanting an affordable quality ultralight reel. You can’t go wrong.

Outstanding Ceymar C-10.

My okuma ceymar c-10 reel has a lot of frequent tangles with line getting under the spool and then causing chaos! It was pretty smooth but one session after my reel got stiffer and less smooth. Drag is quite unsmooth with the bail being quite easy to bend! Not impressed
I had some issues with the first reel i received, where my line got caught up under the reel. Seemed like a faulty reel. I was immediately sent a new reel, which I really enjoy. It's smooth, strudy, and feels pretty quality for the value, and fits great (weight distribution) with my Ultra-light Okuma Celilo rod. Would definitely recommend - especially for trout.
I initially purchased this reel in size C-10 for my son for trout/panfish. I got to use it a few times and liked it better than my Pflueger president reel I got for myself. Christmas came and I got my nieces and nephew the same C-10 reel for them. The reel is smooth and light weight. I didn’t have any issues with wind knots when casting. I then bought myself a new St Croix trout rod and got the same reel in the C-20 size because I liked it that much.
The reel I received was faulty. Super disappointed as I didn’t get to use it yet and it’s past its return date. As seen in the video, the reel at times (must be at a particular spot) can and will reel backwards. The spool does not always lock. This will be very problematic when setting the hook. I have not been able to reach customer service at this point. Needless to say I’m frustrated as I have a reel that I don’t trust at quite a substantial price point. I hope this helps, as there is a chance you may get a lemon. Any customer service help would be greatly appreciated.
I’ve been using the 2000 version paired with a light ugly stik for fishing my local river. Been catching a lot of perch, largemouth (2-3lbs), and even some stripers! Paired it with some 6lb braid. No issues yet. I’m impressed with the quality of this reel at the price point. I’m beating this thing up daily and it still works fine. I even caught a 10+ lb carp on this thing by accident, but had to baby it in.
I’d recommend this for sure, but can’t speak to long-term usage. It does seem a little flimsy sometimes.
