I have seldom gushed at a purchase, but when I opened the new rod, I found it to be structurally and cosmetically "beautiful". It looks awesome with the new Penn reel I bought, and the balance is good. Only time will tell how the combo performs, and I may write a follow-up after using the equipment.
If there is one slight negative, it is that a hard case would be more protective. I would be concerned about putting anything on top of this soft-sided rod case.
Overall, I would buy this product again, given the chance.
