Overall it’s a nice controller if you can’t find Nintendo’s pro controller.

Controller started being glitchy but now won't even sync so rendered utterly useless. Need to buy replacement from elsewhere.
It has no vibration, which is disappointing considering you can get two cheaper controllers for the price of this one.
It uses AA batteries which might be annoying now, but in a few years I won't have to find a replacement battery that doesn't perform well. Just have a few rechargeable batteries at home and you'll be fine.
The lights have to be turned on manually, kind of pointless, but my kid thinks it's pretty cool. Unfortunately the button is placed on the opposite of the sync button, so if you're not thinking about it you might hit the sync button when you want the lights on, and it takes a while for the controller to sync with the Wii U console.
Now that that's out of the way let's get to the beef, when I got my controller it was missing its battery cover surprisingly enough, however I discovered that an Xbox one controller battery cover fits surprisingly well. That's about the only reason why I'm docking one star from this review.
All in all I would recommend this controller, just watch out to make sure that yours comes with a battery cover.
I love that I can switch out the batteries in this one and the controller itself feels rigid, responsive and comfortable.
If I didn't already have a nintendo pro controller, I would have gotten another one of these in a heartbeat.
