5.0 out of 5 stars Cute Little Fountain Pen with Amazing Value
Reviewed in Canada on 12 August 2020
I own multiple fountain pens, and love Pilot's nibs. This is definitely the cheapest way to get a Pilot EF nib; you get great clear demostrator and it fits Pilot's largest converter, the CON-70, to boot. It's an amazing value!

The face on the nib is a cute addition and perfect for the target audience of this pen.

The barrel is moulded in a triangle to help you grip the pen a certian way, though might be annoying if you don't grip your pen like most people.

Being an EF nib it's not the smoothest, even with a very wet ink like iroshizuku, but that's always a trade-off with finer nibs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than my LAMY
Reviewed in the United States on 24 November 2020
I've used a LAMY Safari for the last few years and I've loved it but lately I've wanted a thinner line than the LAMY nibs can offer. Heard good things about the Kakuno so I grabbed it plus the Con-40 converter. It works so well!!! Been using for a few days and it's an absolute pleasure to write and draw with. I've tried on multiple qualities of paper and it's a very smooth writing experience. Slightly scratchier feeling on the cold pressed watercolor paper that I use compared to the LAMY but that was to be expected but the thinness of the linework and the superior flow of ink is well worth it. And it was a third the price that I spend on my LAMY!
I use Carbon platinum ink with this pen, it's beautiful.
Only thing that could be better about this pen is the color options. Just a solid black would be great!
