Testing K&H Heated Pads and Beds
You'll notice that your K&H Pet Bed may not feel warm to the touch when your pet is not on the pad. This is normal. Test the pad by placing a large pillow on top of the pad. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot.
Testing Note: Do not place anything on the pad (other than the fleece cover provided) any other time. This should only be done during testing.

Worth every penny, brilliant and clever design, easy to store, as it folds flat to just a bit bigger than A3. Great to know it’s all been tested for safety, all connections are protected and moisture-proofed.
My houses are inside an open garage (no door), so they are sheltered and not directly exposed to the elements but I know they’re safely protected from any dampness in the air, the thermostat control is very good and efficient too.
One of the elderly outdoor cats hasn’t been out of it since it arrived, and he has previously always slept on bare concrete under open sky no matter what the weather, so I’m incredibly happy now, as is he!!
You need to get a US to UK adapter though. I got a Jecub one.
Had all but one fixed, and if not for the fact I already have two cats & one dog, would keep them all inside my home.
But in Toronto, where it gets very cold and snowy in Winter, these waterproof kitty houses are great.
Have bought four so far...but it gives me peace of mind, knowing these not so feral cats, that I feed three times a day at the back of my house, are nice and warm and have a safe place to sleep.
Sincerely, V. Anderson
The heating pad works as well as the heated cat beds also from the manufacturer and the house assembled very easily with Velcro along the edges. The walls and roof seem like they are thick and sturdy enough to insulate and keep the wind at bay.
My concern is with the vinyl flaps for the doorways as it is meant to swing in and out so while it will keep in some heat, it won't stop any direct wind so my advice is to put the house some place out of the wind and it should work great
Got it on sale, and if you can too, it'll keep some animal warm for the winter.
The shelter material and construction is good quality and assembly was intuitive. Carefully assembled, the structure is sturdy. The only confusion was in the heating pad instructions, which said to open an inflatable tab thing that, on our model, did not exist. We just went ahead and plugged it in and it's working fine. Also, the ad says this house is good for up to two cats. They must mean very small ones. Our little man is about 7 lbs (so not huge) but I can't imagine another cat wedging himself in there. Although you never know. Cats. ☺
Item arrived in original packaging, as indicated. The box isn't very sturdy, so I can see why some had issues. Ours was on time and in good condition, so no problem there.
I have a Ferrell cat living in it now. Really warm with the electric blanket. I have some raccoon's that come near my porch at night. The cat loves the back door. Gives him an escape. It's cold here now in Ottawa and the cat is in it all the time. it comes with two plastic sheet doors already installed. I put in some metal weights in each corner before putting the mattress in. Keeps it in place in case of strong winds.
I highly recommend this product. Cat approved.
We've been feeding Gray, a stray Tom for 7 years and this was his Christmas Present. I used a little CatNip on the mat to entice him to enter through the Plastic Door and he was sleeping inside his Home within hours.
This past winter though (Dec-Jan) we had a few weeks with nights below -30 (not counting windchill). We were worried one morning when he was not in his house. We followed his tracks and he was in our old (RubberMaid+2in thick foam+straw-no heating) shelter under the deck. The tip of his ears had frozen... I think that in a normal winter, the heated pad is perfect and the windshelter properties of the house are fine (warm body keep extremities warm), but in extreme cold (-30 and below), more insulation is needed. We were relieved to see our dude spend a few weeks inside after that. He understood being inside was best for a while. He’s the only one of our cats who’s allowed to go outside, because he stresses easily (post trauma side effect) and tends to mark (Prozac helps, but he is more relaxed outside), so we let him go out when he wants to. The other two stay inside...
Anyway, his ear tips did not fall, they are just... a bit droopy now :).
The house is great and still going strong after 4 winters. Watson truly spends most of his life curled up in there in the winter... or in our bed :)
