My Bengal kitten is 11 months and loves to chew things (cardboard, plastic, my legs) and I've been dying to get him something that didn't leave a mess everywhere or leave me bloodied. He loves this toy. He goes absolutely mad for it. The only downside is finding him desperately reaching under the bed or couch because, in his crazy fit, he's batted it under there. It lasted a good month before he managed to tear it open and rip out the stuffing, which, in Bengal terms, is a great life span! Bought a few more to keep him entertained.
Great teeth tool or ring for kitten with teeth coming through. Both of my cats loved this even my adult cat who was not teething.. I also put this in the fridge to help soothe and take down the inflammation from teething for my young kitten, I also used it as a way to keep my cats cool in the summer. My adult cat also loved to play and throw it in the air !!! Great toy!! Which was originally bought for my kitten who was teething!!
This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review, but these items that cost so little for so much fun merit it! After all I've spent on toys for my cat and her 5-month-old kitten, I wish I'd found these first. If you have wooden floors, they're even more fun for them, as they slide brilliantly and they spend ages batting and chasing them (and we spend ages on our knees retrieving them from under the fridge, furniture, etc!). If they've lost one, nothing else that they were happy to play with previously will do - they merely sit by the item of furniture which they're confident is harbouring it and wait patiently until it's retrieved. They're also very durable - mother cat isn't exactly gentle having been feral and survived on the real thing! The best value for money you could find - I cannot praise them highly enough and am about to order more to keep the hooligans going until I feel up to moving the freezer!
These cat toys have a plastic mesh covering that helps to clean our cats' teeth as they chew. It also protects the fabric underneath, to some extent, so the mice survive for much longer than non-mesh mice. With our cats, who play every day with the mice, they last a couple of weeks (whereas non-mesh mice might last a few minutes). The seams eventually split, after much biting and chewing, and the stuffing comes out, at which point the mice must be replaced. Our cats love them and play excitedly with them. We have tried many play-mice, these are the best so far.
I did not expect this type of reaction from our cat. She’s usually quite fussy with new toys and with pretty much everything in general. But these mice, she hasn’t given them a break since I got them, she keeps kicking them and moving them around all through the day. They are fun to look at and really good quality. I’d recommend to any cat owner, I’m so happy to see our cat this playful
One of our cats goes absolutely crazy when one of these is in sight and chases it all over the house to the point where we have to take it away for a time out. It also keeps getting it under the bed and then waiting patiently there until someone comes to extract it... only to somehow have it end up there again 2min later.
My cats taught me some time ago that there is catnip and there is stuff that likes to pretend to be catnip but is just not up to the job. Petstages catnip chew mice have passed the test in this house and rates amongst the best catnip products my cats have tested.
The catnip mice are on the small size but they are packed full of good quality catnip if my cats' reactions are anything to go by. My eldest cat, recovering from an RTA, suddenly sprang into action chasing one around the room until said mouse disappeared somewhere under the TV - with such force that we have not yet managed to find it. Luckily we had more than one to satisfy the thirst for play.
Each pack contains two mice, each of which appears to be well constructed out of play and gnaw-proof fabric and mesh. My cats seemed to enjoy chewing the mesh part although the two oldest cats have left it a bit late to benefit from the claims of improvements to dental health with few teeth left between them. The youngest cat still has a full complement of teeth, despite her best endeavours to leave a few behind in the vet's arm, so she may benefit if the toys live up to the dental claims.
Overall I cannot tell if these mice have any beneficial effect on remaining teeth but my cats have rated them 5/5 for fun and catnip magic alone so anything else is just a bonus.
My kitty already has the chewy mint stick from Petstages and once he had got used to the mint smell (slightly different to catnip) he loves chewing it and playing with it, so I thought I would get him these, as they have the same nice chewy net covering on them, but smell of catnip, which he adores.
They are lovely, well-made little mice, with the good quality net fabric on them, and you can smell the catnip. Kitty was rubbing round them as soon as I took them off the card, and he likes me to throw them for him, especially into his play tunnel, where he can dive in after them.
Excellent little toy mice, well-made and a perfect size to hold, chew and carry about, I'll buy him some more when these get tatty. They are very light so would be suitable for small cats, kittens, and nervous cats who might feel a little intimidated by loud, jangly, heavier toys.
We also have the two triangle shapes but our kitty went absolutely nutty over this pretzel! Looks well made, as with the other Petstages things we own - can't say much about the plaque removing benefits.
