When the magnets are connected, the earbuds turn discreetly toward your chest.

Charging is quick and easy using the USB charging station included with your earphones. This sleek cubic charger connects to a computer or wall socket and holds the earbuds in place with magnets. Simply click your earbuds into place on your charger. When the indicator light turns solid green your earphones are fully charged.

But the headphones are almost useless for making any kind of phone call due to frequent bluetooth dropouts and subsequent disconnections. And using the headphones for music or video audio is often just a frustrating experience as the slightest movement activates Siri or Google Assistant causing and then dropping the bluetooth connection. I don't know if this is a common issue with bt headphones (my over-ear Bose headphones don't seem to have this issue...) but I miss my generic plug-in phone headset which I used daily for making phone calls.
Sound is 10/10 and I loved my Bose soundsports. Was very excited to get these. Ok - sound wise - best ever. Comfort in-ear - crap. Everything ear comfortwise supplied is crappy, either bad comfort and they fall out. So then the additional $45 to get the comply's recommended...well if you do any exercise, these are not good. Even a walk around the block will have you pushing them into your ear. It is incredible that this important element of sport headphone has been so underdone, BTW the Bose never were never noticed in-ear doing walks, MTB riding and running. The Bose sound its really good, but a level below the B&O's.
Ghosh the BEO's sound quality covers a lot of deficiencies. So if you love a lush sound, stay at your desk and make lots of calls (you can charge em and keep charging while making calls which I love) is a great function. If you're a sport head, there are better options. Ah, it's a compromise - the best sound or better convenience.

I've used Comply Isolation tips for years so quickly got some to fit these - they give a big improvement on sound and fit.
When you first use them, you can sometimes hear some rustling from the fabric cord brushing your clothing, but once you are actively listening to music or podcasts that rustling disappears. Battery life is good, I've never been caught short, and they charge up quickly. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the charging station, it would be so much easier if you could simply plug a micro USB straight in. The other niggle is the B&O app - its great to be able adapt the soundscape and works really well, but you have to open the app each time and manually activate - it would be better if the headphones remembered the previous settings. Other than that, I highly recommend Beoplay H5s.
I use the headphones mainly for running, as that is what they are advertised for, and just listening around the house. I listen to audiobooks and music so I need the headphones to be good to hear what is being said while plodding along. I have used them for a good 150 hours running in all weathers (more on that later) and never had a problem with them falling out (even on uneven cross country runs). It did take a little testing to get the right Comply ear tip, after experimenting I am a small sports one for general use and running and a small comfort one for mowing the lawn (better isolation on that one). The Comply tips are very good and need to be put in correctly (there are youtube videos out there), but they do wear out, so much so (a pair a month at £10) that they are like a consumable for the headphones! (This is probably down to the sports use so if you are just using the headphones for commuting then you'll get more life out of them).
One of the features that I love about the headphones is that you can switch them off by just clipping them together around your neck. This keeps them a lot safer than just having them dangling and I do find myself wearing them like this, around the house, when not using them. I normally pop them in a pocket when I'm out.
The app that goes with them is also really good as you can change the sound presets and save ones you like. It took me months before I realised you could use a two finger zoom to control the bass!
I did have a problem with my headphones after about 11months. I had been out on a very rainy run (so rainy that my shoes filled with water!), and the three button controller started working intermittently. I put up with this for a bit then contacted B&O again. The headphones went back with a prepaid RMA again and a week later a new pair turned up with a new 2 year warranty.
Really pleased with them and would definitely recommend them for the sound quality and on going support.
The charger block is ungainly large and has a long USB cable permanently attached, so for me that was already putting me off them. I wanted to use the ear hook attachments to help them stay in my ears. But you cannot charge the headphones with the hooks attached - you have to remove the hook to fit them in the charger. And you can't remove the hook without removing the rubber ear bud.
That's too much faff and likely to cause the rubber components to fail quickly. Returned :(
The Design, is outstanding again, as expected.
Love the charger, love the pouch, and the packaging was great too.
Haven't had any issues with calls or people not hearing me - it's been fine, and I love the app that comes with it allowing you to adjust the sound.
The only reason this is a 4 star, and not a 5 - is the level of "microphonics" sounds, which are produced due to the cable rubbing against your clothes. It's noticeable, so you have to either stay quite still - or wear t-shirts, soft cotton based clothing. A work shirt will be quite noisy in your ears.
I bought these headphones in July 2018 for commuting and for sports. It did take a while to get used to them with the ideal comfy buds. The sound quality is excellent.
1. You do hear the lead rubbing against the back of my neck when running but after a while you don't notice it.
2. They can fall out during a run or require a slight adjustment.
3. Very poor build quality. As you can see from the pictures - the lead has started to unravel after 6 months of use. I have sent these back to B&O for an inspection but they have deemed this to be user induced. They haven't offered any sort of repair service.
In summary, fantastic sound quality but let down by poor build quality.
* Great Sound
* Great that magnets (when touching) turn earphones off
* Does not fully pair with older Bluetooth devices (2013 iPod nano touch). Meaning I have to go to Bluetooth settings each time to connect. Works perfectly with iPhone X.
* Not loud enough (No\Not good noise cancellation)
* Battery life is poor in comparison to competitors.A little over 3hrs - 4hrs
* Proprietary charger
* Be sure to apply the firmware update to make these livable
I’m a long time bose person, and currently use the QC35 wireless headphones. I’ve been looking for some earbuds for the times where a big set of headphones wasn’t ideal. The bose buds were too pricey for my use case, so opted for these.
All in all these are fantastic sounding earphones, which is basically all I was looking for, but the lack of features Id expect from this brand and price range, plus the video sync issue, makes them far from perfect
What I like:
- the materials, design & build feel great
- the sound is so clear, very well balanced. As a bose person I forget how much bose treat their soundstage, so I was missing a little more bottom end, which was overcome via the app - at a cost (see next section)
- the magnets to turn off is really handy
What I didn’t like
- video delay. It’s a small delay, but noticeable and pretty annoying. If you tweak the eq in the app, the sync gets worse too (presumably due to additional processing needed). My bose bluetooths have 0 delay. The sync for me means that I can’t watch video using them as it’s just too annoying
- the fit - the stock buds did fit ok, but I didn’t get the seal I was wanting. I took advice from other comments and got the comply tx-200 buds. Much better! Albeit this adds to the cost
- the charger - I now have to carry around yet another cable. Would have been nice if it had a case/charger combo, like with theirs E8 buds
- I can’t simultaneously connect to more than one device. Perhaps a feature from bose that I now take for granted. But I can’t have music on one device and receive a call from the other. Reconnecting becomes a pain
- the black safety label!! I get that it’s probabbly a regulation, but why put a massive black label right next to the remote, flapping about. Completely ruins the look. Doesn’t look easy to remove either
Considering what you pay for them this doesn't sound like a good buy after all.
The sound quality is amazing, I’ve a bit of a varied taste in music and these headphones can handle what ever I throw at them. Great sound no matter what the genre.
The design is pretty funky too. I guess I’m lucky as the ear buds fit straight out of the box, but there are lots of different types and sizes supplied so I’m sure you’d find you fit.
These paired very easily with my phone, laptop and tv.
Had these for a week now and still impressed. I’m laying in bed listening to Tubular Bells and for the past 40 years I’ve been missing so much. The sound quality on these bad boys is amazing.
My only issue, which its something that other reviewers have mentioned, is that the cable can be a bit irritating as you do feel the noise from any contact that the cable has with clothing. Even a t-shirt will make some audible noise when in contact with the cable. I did find it better wearing the cable at the front, rather than going around the back as this does reduce this noise.
They come with lots of different earbuds including some some for sport, so if you go jogging etc then they should be fine. The big thing is though that the sound is good. I would certainly recommend them to friends as they are really nice and do the job well. Just wish the cable was a bit different, but then you never really get everything 100% perfect on anything.
