The bullet points are:
- The lights are bright enough and have enough coverage to fully illuminate the cargo area.
- No cutting is necessary for the installation, the lights replace two access panel covers on the inside of the rear hatch.
- All parts necessary for the installation are included (though a couple of cable ties to neaten up the cables would have been helpful).
- Badly photocopied useless installation instructions in Chinese are provided.
- No tools are needed for the installation. The trim panels that need to be removed can be taken out with just your bare hands.
- A YouTube video that (mostly) shows how to install these lights is available. Search YouTube for “Toyota RAV4 (2019-2020): Installing Additional Bright Interior LED Lights Into Rear Hatch Door” and follow its instructions.
- The video does not show how to route the cable from the hatch to the existing light for power. To do this remove some of the door gasket at the top of the hatch doorframe to get access to the headliner. GENTLY pull the headliner down slightly. Route the end of the power wire with the two connectors under the headliner, toward the right side of the car, down, and then behind the trim panels to the existing light (which you have already removed as shown in the video). Then back where you started take the other end of that cable (the end with two wires and no plastic connector attached) and route it through the LEFT rubber tube running between the doorframe and the hatch (the right one supplies water for the rear windshield washer – LEAVE IT ALONE). AFTER (NOT BEFORE) that is done insert the two wires into the provided plastic connector making sure that the red and white wires will match up to the red and white wires on the connector that it goes into. Replace the gasket.
- The lights turn on automatically when the hatch is raised and turned off when it is closed. They can also be turned off manually with a switch on the face of the lights.

Install ease: 4 out of 5
Lights worked and look great. Install wasnt bad with the right tools. I used a cable wire to help feed the lights wire. I ran it through the stock light port (opposite what the video on youtube showed) which i found easier. I recommend also connecting all the provided cables and leds together first after installing before connecting it to the car. I blew the fuse trying to test them first. I also recommend getting a few spare fuses. The one my kit used was F3AL 250V. I provided a before and after video showing brightness. Overall very pleased with the led kit.

But definitely watch at least one Youtube video to see what issues to anticipate. One I watched pulled the wires through the right side rubber boot onto the hatch, one video went through the left. I tried the right side first but that boot is much skinnier and didn't work for me. The one on the left has a small notched opening that I slightly made bigger (its before the port hole seal so shouldn't affect water-tightness) and after some effort, I got it to work. Connected all the wires, snapped all the trim back in place, and now I have wonderful light when the trunk is open.
One word of warning - don't let go of the original trunk light wire when you remove the lightbulb to attach the new wiring - I wasn't paying attention and it slipped back into the outlet and was a real pain to find again and pull back out (there are a bunch of other wires running past). If it disappears, it's probably to the right of the outlet toward the back end of the car.
