These syringes are exactly what I was looking for cleaning and refilling fountain pens, converters and cartridges. The blunt needles are small enough to store in the syringe for easy transport and storage. If this is why you are buying these it would be an excellent choice for you.
Why use an expensive ink-converter that's going to fail when you can just refill the plastic cartridge already in the pen? I started doing this with Rotring drawing pens because the ink cartridges that they supply have about six drops of ink in them. Now I just fill them up with Higgins fountain-pen India ink and they're good to go. Works for Schaefer calligraphy pens too.
I have a few eyedropper pens. I have used eyedroppers to fill them, but that was fairly messy and inaccurate for me. So I bought these.
I've used one syringe so far to fill a few pens. It worked very well. Big points for that.
The only reason this gets four stars instead of five is because the syringes don't have covers. So if you get these, just be careful not to jab yourself. They're not incredibly sharp, but they're still pokey, by nature.
A very good friend on mine is crazy about fountain pens. He appreciates quality pens and is particular about the ink that goes in them. The syringes allow him to refill empty cartridges with his preference of ink. When I last spoke with him he was recharging a cartridge with his favorite green ink. I highly recommend these syringes.
good size and worked well for ink transfers for the first couple of times, then the measurement markings started to bleed and disappear. While it does say "discard after use" but I suspect most of us using it for ink mixing will plan on wash and re-use. These are no good, as after a wash or two, you can't read the measurements anymore.
I have purchased syringes for filling my fountain pens before and found it hard to control the flow from the syringe. This leads to really messy refilling of the pens. This one seems much easier to control than others I've purchased and the thin tip helps as well.
I was making a terrible mess trying to fill my converter before these (funny thing is that I was using UV ink so it was an invisible mess but if SIU shined their lights on my hands they would have pegged me for a pervert or something)
I didn't have any instructions on how to use these to fill the cartridge so I did still make a mess the first time I used them but after I figured out where to stick that needle all was well and I get about a 110% fill (Pilot says that's okay) on the cartridge compared to the 50% I was getting before.
These were PERFECT for my needs!! Wish I would have discovered these years ago. I've been using fountain pens for decades and went through ink tubes like crazy. I found buying it in a bottle and refilling is much more economical. I can also experiment with more colors than I ever used to because of the ease of filling a cartridge. Thank you!
