It's my first carbon steel pan, after deciding I've had enough of teflon coating. So far I'm happy.
Regarding the non-stick effect, I don't have much to compare to, but happy with the first attempts of an omelette and a pancake. I first seasoned (twice, on the stove top, with flux seed oil). As to the actual cooking, I do use oil (it's a dietary choice, a teaspoon or so), wait for it to sizzle before adding anything else, then lower the flame and cook. This yielded results with no sticking.
Note it's not very thick (1.5 mm according to the label) and it doesn't feel like the bottom has much additional reinforcement. So I guess it wouldn't be ideal for people/dishes who need a thick pan, special heat distribution etc. On the plus side, this makes it feel light, fun and cook quickly. In fact it's so quick that I'd recommend a low flame (after oil has sizzled) and watching it closely so that it doesn't burn.
