Also when you first get it scrub it. I scrubbed and when drying it afterwards there was still black residue. After a second good scrub it all cane clean. No more reheating the same cup of coffee 12x because you got too busy to drink it...again!!! Highly recommend this. Anyone want to buy my old ceramic coffee mugs!!?!? LOL.
After 7 months of use the paint on the handle is chipping. I have never put it in the dishwasher as per the instructions it came with. If this is a concern you can purchase the stainless steel version which has not paint. I still like the mug and use it almost daily just be aware that the paint may chip on the handle. Another benefit that I’ve noticed is the outside of the mug is never too hot to hold which is not the case with regular coffee mugs.
Update: after using this for a few months I cannot recommend this item. The already flawed lid has another flaw. The rubber gasket that seals the lid to the cup moves up n down the lid n eventually you can't get it back to its original position and the lid will never seal again. Don't buy this cup it has too many flaws.....ina,so have a YETI brand insulated cup and am throwing this one out and buying another YETI..., you should do the same.....
At first I thought the flip cover on the lid would only rotate 90 degrees and get all in my face when I was drinking, and I was kinda miffed. But no, you just push it a little more than you are comfortable with, thinking it might break, and then it flips over.
