Monitor is detecting the cable but no signal being received form my mac. Either way, it doesn't work. I'd return it but can't be bothered.
The reality: It's a cable. I plugged it in. It worked.
So, five stars! Quality seems perfectly fine and it was 1/3 the price of the ones selling in JB Hifi.

This is an excellent, good quality product and I'm very happy with my purchase.
Only thing is in hindsight it might have been better for me to order the 3 meter version rather than the 1.8 meter one I have. But that was my error not the seller.
I will definitely be ordering Rankie products again. Highly recommended.
As described it is the length advertised and fits well into the oprprete ports.
Shiny black and smells all new.
A few months ago I had purchased this and it is still going strong and I haven't had an issue with it since receiving it. It also has a very useful clip on the DP side so that it locked in tight with zero chance of it every disconnecting during intense moments in gaming or when relaxing watching TV.
Would heavily recommend this item to all that are in need of one.
Delivered on time.
Perfect length for my purposes but you may want a longer cable if the distance between devices is significant.
With these cables I have successfully connected all 3 monitors to my graphics card, the length is suitable to get from a monitor stacked above the others, to low under the desk.
Perfectly suitable for purpose.
With that out of the way the DP to HDMI works as you would expect. After DP to HDMI failed for Vive (user error) I went with the same company for the DP to DP Mini cable which says a lot for them. I can't comment on the transmission of sound as my setup simply isn't wired that way but for 1080p it works great. Its significantly cheaper than the cables in the commercial shops around, even with next day ultrafast super delivery. If you want a cable for DP to HDMI for 1080p it works and its the length it claims which is about the best you can say about any DP or HDMI cable. Signal quality as DP and HDMI use digital it will always be a perfect picture (making the £1000 solid silver cables as good as £3 cheap cables), its not especially hardened or weaker than you would anticipate and it fits in the socket well as you would expect for any cable above £3.
Ultimately if you need a DP to HDMI cable for 1080p its certainly a cable I would get again, but if you needed to go outside of HDMI specifications and go above 1080p I would consider it for its price but not expect it to work though the majority of similar cables wouldn't work either. Bottom line, its better than its price suggests and it works, for anyone using 1080p that's all you need.
once it arrived i connected it into a display port and into my tv's hdmi in that i had been using for a while now. it found a signal just fine, great, but then decided it wasnt going to show ANY image at all. i swapped my hdmi ports, i swapped it between all THREE of my display ports and just the same in every single one of them. i then decided to see if it would work in my 1080p monitor and it worked perfectly fine. so i checked my display properties, my drivers, everything and nothing would make it work.
so yeah it'll work fine if you plug it into something that's not 4k but will not work with 4k.
I obviously cannot comment on the durability of the product. I have had it set up for a couple of days so far without issue, I cannot comment on how long the cable will last.

Something to be aware of is that the HDMI end is way longer than a normal HDMI cable. If you have a wall mounted TV this might be an issue although it's no problem for me. I knocked one star off for this cos it wouldn't have worked on our wall mounted TV.
This last part is a general observation not a problem with the cable. This is a directional cable it only works connecting a display port PC to a HDMI device. It won't connect a HDMI PC to a Display Port monitor. Hopefully this means you buy the right cable for your needs.
I am ordering another two of these. That says it all really......
