Product description
Keep produce fresh up to 80% longer with the Rubbermaid FreshWorks 2.5-Cup Produce Saver. Revolutionary FreshVent technology creates an optimal environment for fruits and vegetables by regulating the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide in and out of the produce container. The CrispTray at the bottom of the food container elevates produce away from moisture and promotes airflow to help prevent spoilage. No need to spend a fortune on replacement filters—the FreshWorks built-in lid filter is made to last a lifetime. The 2.5-cup capacity is the perfect size for storing foods with a smaller footprint, from juicy blueberries to fragrant herbs. Based on strawberries in FreshWorks containers vs. store packaging. Results may vary depending upon produce and use.

• Increases longevity of most food produce past "Best By" dates, unlike plastic storage bags, which decreases longevity significantly
• Less plastic bags usage supports a cleaner and safer environment
• Saves gas and frequent trips to the grocery store by allowing more produce to be purchased and stored in one trip without the worrisome of throwing decaying food away after a couple of days
• Less bad food thrown away equals more money savings
• Green perforated tray keeps produce away from liquid, which maximizes longevity while minimizes decay
• Vent holes on the lid regulates airflow, minimizing developed moisture (breeding ground for bacteria) inside
• Stacks well on top of each other to occupy less space in the refrigerator for other essentials
• No filter changes like some other storage containers
• Lid is not flat, but raised to allow more produce to fit, although not recommended
• Encourages a more healthier lifestyle by eating fruits and vegetables that would otherwise spoil within a couple of days
• Easy to wash and clean
CONS:
• Not sealed-proof, condensation and moister does occasionally develop on the inside top of the lid, causing it to drip down onto the produce
• All the 2.5 cups ordered came with a sticky residue (as seen in the last picture) that was difficult to rub off
• Works well for some produce, but other foods spoiled within a couple of days
TIPS:
• Follow the container's instructions and never wash the produce before storage
• If any moisture in original packaging, dry them with paper towels before storage
• Put produce in storage immediately after bringing home from grocery store for best longevity
• Not recommended to overflow, i.e. over the top of the container, to allow better airflow
• When buying produce, always pick the freshest and newest to ensure they last the longest
TEST 1 (Asparagus)
• Asparagus lasted for 13 days, almost 2 full weeks, without any wetness or turning dark green from the tips
• The tips are the most desirable places, and usually the first to go bad, but did not
• Could have lasted much longer, but it was time to eat them
TEST 2 (Romaine Lettuce)
• Lasted 10 days from initial storage without any mold or dead leaves, contrary to plastic bags which caused the leaves to become much softer and moldy within a week
• Some leaves were not as crisp as initially opened and eaten, becoming soft and limp
• Minimal discoloration
TEST 3 (Cucumbers)
• Lasted only a few days
• Spoiled on the 4th day, with mold and moisture development
• Wasted money and threw away spoiled produce
• A big disappointment in this test that would have otherwise expected to be better
TEST 4 (Raspberries)
• Lasted 6 days
• No moldy, bruising, or slimy spots, although not as firm as on the first day
• Shelf life was longer than in original plastic containers

Can’t recommend these at current price as currently advertised (£24 + £12 duty).

Strawberries used to go off in 2-3 days, they lasted TEN DAYS in this, and probably longer but by then we had eaten them all! Has paid itself off, can buy bulk strawberries and use them all so no food wastage. Fits 600g strawberries. I recommend this to anyone and everyone.
Prior to this I was replacing punnets every three days so the money saved is great.
Delivered within two week and to the U.K. So much earlier than the month expected.

Highly recommend this to anyone looking; don'tsecond guess, just get it.
