The SISU Junior Mouth Guard offers more protection with less mouth guard. The Junior is designed to fit younger players ages 7-10, and is ideal for soccer, football, hockey, lacrosse, basketball and other high-impact team sports. All SISU guards can be quickly and easily molded (and re-molded) to the individual user at home with hot water. At only 1.6mm thick, or 50% thinner than conventional, bulky mouth guards, players wearing the slim SISU Junior can talk, breathe and hydrate normally with the guard in-place. With SISU guards, superior comfort does not mean sacrificing protection. The SISU Junior is scientifically engineered with Diffusix technology, which uses a non-compressible, perforated material to distribute impact forces over a larger area and reduce risk of dental injury during competition. SISU guards are compatible with braces, but a dental professional should be consulted for proper fitting (adult-sized guard recommended for all ages wearing braces). For athletes age 11 and older, look for the SISU Aero or SISU Max for a better fit. SISU mouth guards are backed by a $35,000, one year limited dental warranty protection.
From the manufacturer
The most unique feature of the SISU Aero is its super-slim, ultralight design. At a lean 1.6 mm, the Aero is 50% thinner than a standard mouthguard. Combined with its quick, custom and remoldable fit, it's easy to forget there's something awesome and plastic inside the mouth.
SISU guards are made from a material that absorbs and diffuses impact throughout the entire mouthguard, meaning that much less impact force is transferred the teeth.
Using one-of-a-kind Diffusix Technology, the impact force is distributed over larger areas, which means less risk of dental injury during competition.
Conventional mouthguards are made from a material that's too soft to fully protect teeth from harm.

The fact that it is remoldable is very attractive. You simply drop it in the water and it goes back to the flat shape it came in.
I'd suggest checking out Sisu videos on Youtube.
My major concern with this guard is that it doesn't seem to have much market share or take up in the UK. In addition it is very THIN, and I do wonder how effective it would really be if hot by say a hockey stick in the face? At this stage, not knowing much about the brand (they appear very focussed on the USA) I'd probably be reluctant to use it for say hockey - until at least someone could convince me otherwise.
We are using it for BJJ, which is a grappling/judo type sport, so for our purposes it's fine. In fact that fact that it fits well in the mouth means that our child can put it in at the start of the lesson and leave it there without taking it out constantly - an important hygiene consideration given the fact that are rolling around on the gym's floor.
This style took a couple of attempts to get right last year (it's easy when you've done it a couple of times). It even gets worn, too!
Better still we don't actually need to use the one we've just bought because we were able to remodel the old one.
The only negative is that it doesn't really come with a carry case (though we have plenty of spares belonging to the rejected mouthguards)
Interesting approach that it is supplied flat and moulds to the shape shape of her mouth when heated.
Make sure you read the instructions on how to mould it and be prepared to have a few goes at moulding the mouth guard into the right shape - took 4 goes with my daughter standing on a chair to get a nice fit.
Still, happy that it fits better than the off the shelf ones, and we can remould every month to allow for growing teeth.
