helped me to get the tank cycle routine down without harming the fish, had a few hiccups a few months in with a different product. This helps make ammonia less toxic (doesn't remove it completely) and lasts for around a day, so gives you time to do your water changes and get your feeding routine down pat. Always have a testing kit too. If it spikes, I use this, when adding water I use a tiny amount of this too.
It was delivered the next day, for no additional cost. When I first used it, I hated it - my entire house was filled with the wonderful aroma of rotten eggs - I couldn't possibly see how this product was so popular in the fish hobby. However, I later discovered that the trick to an odourless home, is to add the conditioner to a bucket of water or a small sample of water, rather than add it straight to the fish tank, with this method I have enjoyed using it far more. I purchased this conditioner, as I was having trouble with an aquarium that was giving me a false cycle. I added fish only to find the Ammonia increase. Now, with this product, my fish have had no problems and my tank is finally starting to stabilise. Prime only stays active in the aquarium for 48 hours, so after this time frame, you will need to add another dose to keep all the toxins nutrified and your fish healthy. I think I would definitely continue using this as a water conditioner, now that the smell is manageable.
I had a real problem with a newly established tank . My nitrite levels were off the charts but my nitrate was normal . Let me tell you what worked for me Include biological filter medium ( ceramic rings ) in to your filter even if you have to partially replace the sponge with medium. Always make sure the sponge is on top In a new tank don't conduct water changes unless there is an emergency .Let your tank settle. Get an airstone to increase flow . And get Seachem prime . Prime won't sort out your nitrate/nitrate problems but it detoxifies them which buys you time to establish your cycle . I was losing fish until prime intervened and my cycle kicked in , hence the 999 reference . Only a cycled tank will make fish happy but prime might buy you enough time to allow the cycle to kick in .
Love this stuff! It smells a bit iffy when you open it but it's amazing how little you need. Before for my tiny tank (55l) I was using 1/4 bottle for a water change, now with this we are talking measuring it out with a 1ml syringe! Down side is my fish are probably going to die of old age before I run out of this stuff! Had it 7 months and can only just start to tell there is some missing. Seems to work fine, my fish are still alive and appear healthy, they have started breeding (not something we wanted so we left the eggs in the tank for them to snack on). Well worth the extra £2 compared to the bottle at the local pet shop.
Best conditioner for axolotl I recommend 100%. Just make sure you pour the right dosage but the instructions are on the bottle. Be careful the dosage is different from warm water to fresh water if you have low chlorine and chloramine. A bottle like this will last you a really long time. Also don't try to snif it, it stinks 🤣 I warned you.
I have been using Seachem Prime conditioner since 2016 having been advised from one of the fish keeping facebook pages. Never looked back since. It is a reliable product. Its a concentrate means that it lasts considerable time,5ml per 200 litres!!. Given its price and concentrate this is great value for money My aquarium is 250 litres and i use it regularly when changing water / cleaning the tank. If you have children, then no doubt you will no about the syringes in Calpol. Perfect for use here. Give them a wash and then use it for this purpose going forwards. I do regular Water tests using a test kit and always the results are as expect.
I am a beginner in fish keeping and swas struggling to cycle my pond (fishless), which had no improvement for a month or maybe even a little over a month. Nitrite level was high, ammonia level was 0, Nitrate level was 0. Then I came across an article that suggested doing cycle with fish in it to allow all the bacterias to feed and grow. Now, I did not want the fish to suffer, which is why they suggested introducing bacterias to the pond using Pond Bomb and Seachems Prime to keep fishes safe. Friends father brought 6 fishes, they have been all happy. Using Seachem Prime kept my fish happy and my pond got cycled within 2 weeks of using combination of both of the products. Remember, read the labels properly to get the full benefit.
Absolute miracle! A must have for saltwater aquariums new or mature. Literally couldnt sing this stuffs praises any more than I have. Basically turns ammonia and nitrite NON TOXIC for 48hrs per dose. Its concentrated so you use literally naff all. Perfect for cycling with fish or just to buy you some time whilst you sort out an ammonia spike etc. Whilst it does all that it conditions your water taking out chlorine and making the water crystal clear. Used it for 3 weeks and I'll be ordering a case of the stuff.
Brilliant for not only removing chlorine, but chloramines, ammonia and nitrites. You only have to use a little bit so the bottle lasts ages. Well worth the money. Beware the smell... Its meant to smell that way, but by, does it whiff!
