1.0 out of 5 stars Died after 5 weeks. Returned to Amazon without issues.
By Matthias EcoAmbitionsAustralia on 10 December 2020
Defect after 5 weeks.

Thanks to Amazon the return process was straight forward.

IT equipment can fail in the first 6 weeks due to heat, it's not rare.

Sadly it happened to me with this one.

As the same model wasn't available anymore I replaced it with a WD one of the same specs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really good read & write speeds
By From Straw to More on 10 April 2021
Just built a new desktop PC with a MSI M550M Bazooka MB, AMD Ryzen 3600 CPU, 32 GB of Kingston RAM 3200Mhz, a Corsair NVMe Gen 4 drive as my main drive with this drive as my storage/backup. Cyrstalmark tests 201.62 MB/s read and 180.61 MB/s write. In practice, when copying or moving from the NVMe to the Barracuda it averages around the 160 MB/s mark.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seagate Barracuda 2TB Internal Hard Drive
By Kenneth M. Henderson on 4 July 2019
This item was bought to add to the current Windows tower I have to expand the C drive to an acceptable size that can be used without always running out of space when doing major work. I have used Seagate many times with success.

1.0 out of 5 stars Two drives, one with 2500+ bad sector, one DoA
Reviewed in India on 14 October 2018
Ordered this drive on Amazon sale, first one delivered within a day. Connect it to desktop to try transferring some files, right off the bat gnome disks says 1700+ bad sectors, however drive health is ok. Do a brief research and found that this alone might not make it a bad drive, the number may not even go up. Try transferring files from old hard disk (HGST, 1TB, 3 years old, zero bad sectors), after about 100GB transfer, rsync slows down and begins to complain. I check gnome disks, 2590+ bad sectors, drive health reduced to 99 from 100, still says ok. Decided not ok, disconnect the drive and repackaged it.
Order a replacement, replacement gets delivered 3 days later in torn up packaging held together with rubber bands. Connect the drive again, Windows disk management asks to intialize drive, click initialize, fails with IO error. Boot linux live distro, with the SATA cable from my Crucial SSD connected to this drive on the off chance the cable was bad. Gnome disks can't initialize the drive, gparted fails to scan drive and complains about IO errors. Disconnected and repackaged it, now contemplating next move.

Edit: Ended up taking it up to seagate customer service, RMAed it, they gave me a new hard drive, with warranty, delivered in a properly cushioned box. Using it for 5 months now, no issues yet.
