So honoured to write the first review of what i know is going to be a bestseller book! Im a vegetarian so naturally my favourite Sabrina book so far has been Bazaar- but i think Simply is going to quickly overtake! I haven’t tried the recipes yet, but there’s loads of veggie choice and so many recipes im sure i could attempt to make with tofu/paneer as the marinades and sauces are intriguing. As is Sabrina’s style- the ingredients are varied and interesting but not hard to source in the UK, and the flavours sound fantastic and new but remain loyal to her style. I can’t wait to start cooking! Definitely a book for any Sabrina fan or fans of good, easy but impactful flavoured cooking!! Love love love!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure of a Book

We adore Sabrina’a cooking, and were eagerly anticipating this book- we have not been disappointed! It’s bursting to the seams with enticing and achievable recipes which look delicious without excessive or unobtainable ingredients. Sabrina‘s written style is entertaining and down to earth, and the book itself is beautiful, arranged in a really accessible and sensible manner.

We have only had the book a few days but have already earmarked so many mout-watering recipes to make (unusual as often we only find a few we fancy). I spent a pleasurable hour or so genuinely reading through this; Sabrina’s cooking is as exciting as it is non-pretentious. Tonight was the lamb kebabs and the kitchen still smells divine...absolutely delightful and really only needed some salad and yoghurt alongside.

Loads of veggie/ vegan recipes in here. We aren’t, but this will be useful for entertaining. Equally, she has been sensible in limiting ingredient lists and suggesting more affordable cuts of meat.

Whether you want a beautiful gift for someone, are a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, or simply fancy a refreshing cookbook with lots of new ideas, I couldn’t recommend this more.

Another fantastic book from the very talented Sabrina Ghayour. Firstly, the book looks great; easy to read and great photographs. But the main feature, the recipes, are to die for. Simply really does describe them well. Not too many ingredients, all easy to find and nothing complex to cook. The harissa & lime chicken wings are delish - we cooked for lunch today. If you are a fan of Ms Ghayour just buy this. If you are new to Persian & middle eastern flavours give it a shot. You’ll not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Book of 2020

Absolutely without a doubt my favourite book of 2020, this is going to be hard to beat!
The book its self is ‘Simply’ beautiful! Luxurious silky pages, bright enticing pictures, and perfectly written recipes. I love a good introduction to each recipe that really sets the scene!
My style of cooking is ‘social’ food; anything that can be piled on to fanciful serving platers and dishes and thrown on the table for everyone to dig in, (along with copious amounts of wine of course) and for me this completely ticks those boxes! Nothing too over the top, yet special enough to wow!
I usually get my sticky notes out and mark the pages I most want to try with a new recipe book, but after marking nearly every page in the first chapter, ive given up! I want to try EVERYTHING! I can promise you, this book will not disappoint!

Yet another fantastic book by Sabrina! The author has clearly tested the recipes as there are ‘real’ introductory notes for all recipes and what I really like is at the end of each recipe there are recommendations of what dishes to serve with what dish. I have all of Sabrina’s books and Persiana may be replaced by Simply as my favourite! Brilliant Sabrina you deserve a bestseller with this one thank you for keeping it ‘real’. Highly recommended by me.

This book arrived yesterday and has enriched my life since! I used to have a close connection to the Iranian culture but sadly don’t anymore and I craved so many recipes in the book Simply. This recipe book is an insight into the untouched world of Persian cuisine that everyone is missing in their lives! Easy to follow and the results are amazing. Thank you Sabrina :) such a blessing!
(Added a bit of caramel sauce into the coconut and blueberry cake but everything else was the same).

This is yet another brilliant book filled like the others with fresh, easy to follow recipes that create flavour packed meals so ‘simply’! The flavour palette that Ms Ghayour uses is complex and varied and utterly delicious AND the absolute beauty of it is, and again this is the same for all her books and is the heart of her talent, you won’t have to buy expensive or hard to find items or be stuck with a jar of something random because she deliberately creates her recipes using readily available items and many you’ll already have. Treat yourself to this book and discover a whole new repertoire!

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Flavours, Something Different
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 September 2020

If you can buy all the ingredients in Aldi or Lidl then it's my kind of cookbook - I have no intention of spending a small fortune on rare and expensive ingredients, nor do I have the time to visit multiple specialist delis. Recipes are quite easy to follow, pictures are good. Interesting flavours I probably wouldn't have tried had I not seen the author demonstrate on Saturday Kitchen. You can find some of the recipes online for free, so try before you buy, but for me it was worth buying the book for those not available elsewhere.

I would have preferred to see some nutritional information with each recipe, as you find in some cookbooks.

1.0 out of 5 stars Errors in the ingredients.

I love all her books, especially Persiana. Unfortunately both recipes I have tried in this book had printing errors in the ingredients. I made the labneh which it states needs 2tbs of salt in the yoghurt. It was so salty I then looked up other recipes and realised the amount of salt was far too much.
Then last night I made the fishcakes which had 2 TBS of English mustard powder in the ingredients. I should have trusted my instincts and put 2 teaspoons in as the result was inedible.
Such a shame, it makes me mistrust the whole book. Errors like this should have been picked up.
So disappointed.
