the only issue we're experiencing it's with the second lullaby. when we're playing that one and try to rise the volume, it suddenly stop. when pressing play again it doesn't play the same we selected earlier.
2 Main flaws:
- loudest setting is not loud enough
- there’s no option to leave on for longer than 60 minutes, there should be an option to not auto-off.

Pros : Attractive looking light, sturdy and well built. The night time light colours are a nice soothing red and orange - not disruptive blue light.
Cons : Once the red ‘go to bed’ light has turned off after its allotted program time you cannot switch it back on again casually. So if you switched the cloud back on, it would be orange - this is confusing for my little one. I think you should be able to program when the light is red - so whenever it gets switched on between 8pm-6am you can say “look the cloud is red”. I also think to help this concept, the cloud should have a feature to stay red all night to help explain during wake ups that is still sleepy time. Sounds like the Gro-clock covers this functionality far better.
Switching the light on ad-hoc (not on a programme) is done by hitting the sun. But it prioritises the white noise setting which is ANNOYING as I am sure most of us have bought this primarily as a nightlight. So first press turns on the sound, second press turns on the light. It’s hard work for a little one who just wants their light on. You can disable the white noise by setting the volume to 0.
The morning wake setting isn't that gentle or gradual. It could be much improved. Also, my son sleeps through the wake up programme so it is again fairly useless.
Setting the programs is fiddly AF. It’s not hard, it is just fiddly and irritating.
Overall, i think it is a very cute light but its useless at convincing a wakeful 2.5 year old at 3am that it is definitely still bedtime due to its inconsistencies. The product seems to try and cover too many bases at once (trainer, white noise unit, nightlight) without doing any of them well.

Really very disappointed with this item. I have the skip hop plug in noise maker, and we love this. I assumed the mini portable version would be just as good so I didn’t put too much stock in all the bad reviews I read about this item. We also have other skip hop products and always thought they were great products. This however falls very very short! I read other reviews before buying this and one of the common comments was “stops working for no reason” - admittedly I just assumed this to be down to a random faulty device or user error. Now having my own sound machine - and I’ve only had it for around 10 days - I can report that it is badly designed and poorly made. It does indeed just cut out and stops working. You can’t get it to work and it just quits. For days. Then it will suddenly come to life again for 20 minutes. Then it quits again. This is even with brand new batteries!! So it is not a power supply issue. In addition to this, it only takes batteries. Which you need to change with a screwdriver so for a portable device that you would want to take in journeys it is badly designed for ease of recharging and general use. Everyone wants to take a Philips head with them on holiday, right? In addition to this, it only stays on for up to 60 minutes. So if you want continuous sound then I’m afraid this sound machine won’t meet that need either. Basically it’s crap and only fit for the skip (maybe that’s why the brand is skip hop?). Really disappointing.
