Another complex and exciting mystery. This story also finally completes a problem that has been plaguing Nikki and Joseph since before they began to work together. We also see the last of another, much loved/respected local villain. Time does move on and this series does that very well. We are kept in touch with familiar characters and are introduced to new ones.
This story is really two and a half stories in one. One has two threads to it. Joy really knows how to keep all the balls bouncing until the very end.

A simply stunning read from the author, the fifth book in the DI Nikki Galena series.
I keep saying the series can't get better but I was proved wrong again; Stalker On The Fens is an exemplary read with intricately woven threads that join at the end in what can only be described as a heart-breaking, shocking and yet joyous conclusion. It really does make you run the full gamut of emotions. As always there is enough of a tease at the end to leave you begging for the next installment.
This has been, without a doubt, one of my favourite novels of the year!

I love the images provoked by this varied landscape and the characters immersed within.
She always manages to insert so many twists and turns with so many options I am always perplexed
In discovering "Who done it". I have now read at least 7-8 of this talented authors work and never
have I been disappointed.. Enjoy !!

Boring, predictable chick. Do some research before writing a book. Do you seriously believe that any doctor would allow a man to just quietly die without making superhuman efforts to save his life. The scene where the doctor lets the torture victim have a "Deep and Meaningful" conversation before expiring made me want to throw my Kindle against the wall (except I was afraid of breaking it).
I'm a doctor and a cop's daughter and this book is rubbish.
And, why do female cop protagonists always have names like Nikki? Pretentious names with pretentious spellings. What's wrong with Jane, Rebecca, Sarah, etc etc.

Love how Joy weaves her tales. Love her characters. Rory comes into his own in this one and we see more of him this time. Archie is at his honourable best and presents Nikki and Joseph with a unique gift. All the other faves are there too. Simply loved it! Onto the next one!

Brilliant.. I have read all five books in this series and hopefully Joy Ellis will be writing more.. Love the area the books are written about and the police procedures are exactly right.. I certainly didn't pick who the murderer was.. I thought it was someone else then changed my mind and decided on another person but was wrong again.. Could'nt put the book down until I had finished...

This is the first Joy Ellis novel I've read. Easy to read, reasonable story - although I did think the central character had a bit of an unrealistic, danger packed life to be believable - but that's probably just me. I will probably read more of these books at a later day.

Another GREAT detective novel...

The fifth book in the series which I have consumed all in as many weeks. The characters are morphing into real people and the places are becoming real. Is that good or bad? I don't know but it does perhaps reflect the enjoyment from reading these books.

I love this series by Joy Ellis but found this particular book disappointing.

I've read several of the 'Fens' novels by Joy Ellis now and all have been fabulously well written and a seriously good reads. There's a great sub plot threading through the books. However, Stalker is the first book by this clever author that has left me feeling a slight regret over her quality of research. As with many authors Joy Ellis deems to impinge that the male upper echelons of the Police force are or have in the past in some way been 'tainted' by membership of Freemasonry. This statement must be corrected. I have been a Freemason since 2004, joining it because of the three strands that hold the order together: truth, relief and brotherly love (there are female Freemasons as well so sisterly love equally applies). Maybe back in a dark distant past there might have been but nowadays there are no written or unwritten code that dispenses favours amongst 'pals'. Certainly as far as I've experienced few, if any, people of high public office or authority are members. On the other hand what I have found is an organisation quietly dispensing pretty hefty sums of money to needy charity, rivalled only by the National Lottery. This money is gathered from amongst its membership and wisely distributed to worthy causes.

Fabulous latest book.....

I've been following the series for the last few months and its great writing. I've followed all of Joys books and found the caliber of writing and intrigue of the story absolutely intriguing. Lots of twist's and turn's as always, I just can't await the next book in the series in 2017. Plus the Independent book i hope you do a sequal.
I so love the story line and style by Joy and look forward to many more books.
This is a must read in the series. Enjoy its well worth reading..

Nikki's friend Helen is sure she has a stalker. But then she starts having flash backs to an accident she was involved in and says someone was with her and they confessed to a murder. Nikki doesn't know what to believe, but then Helen is murdered. Unbeknown to Nikki the killer has her in their sights.
Oh boy this book is a roller coaster of a ride and absolutely fantastic. Yet again Joy Ellis has written a book with marvellous characters and a gripping story line.
Highly recommended.

Gripping But Complicted

If you follow Joy Ellis and her hero cop DI Nikki Galena, you will not be disappointed. Edge of the seat stuff from start to finish. However my feeling is that the whole thing was a bit over engineered with too many sub plots and red herrings. I spotted the perpetrator the instant they appeared on the scene, which made wading through all the meanderings to the conclusion a bit tedious at times.
