This book was a very good read. No torrid sexual descriptions, quite ok for Junior to read, a bit far out with one man destroying all without bloodshed. At least the way the it was done you were only left with a heap of dirty clothing.

This book explains what happened to Revan after the 'Knights of the Old Republic' game concludes, and explains how he came to appear in the current video game 'The Old Republic'. It all ties in nicely, and it is a story well told.

An interesting continuation of Revan's story. I had difficulty putting it down, once I started reading I found it difficult to put down.

Exactly what I was after. Good story, twists and turns, Jedi, Sith and plenty of light sabre wielding action.

Bane was better. This was well worth a read though.

I've read more Star Wars novels than I care to remember and no one captures the sheer power of a Sith or Jedi as much as Drew. Bane, Revan and The Emperor are legends without doubt in the Star Wars universe and I'd love to see them as a star wars story on the big screen. Another great read, depth of character and story meant I just kept on reading. Having read the Bane trilogy and loving it, I already had high hopes for Revan and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Fantastic Story

Another fantastic story line from way in the past before a New Hope...well worth a read. All these books run on a timeline leading upto the Original Trilogy and beyond. It’s a huge scope of reading and puts a lot of historical context to the overall story of Star Wars...Jedi vs Sith...Light vs Dark...you will not be disappointed. Raven actually goes between the two sides, at one time he became Sith but was finally converted back to the Jedi. So he has a unique outlook on the whole situation!!

A must read for any fan of the old republic era!

I must admit im a big fan of Revan i would say hes one of my most favourite charecter's of the star war's franchise. Also the two knight's of the old republic games were two of my all time favourite games ive ever played although the second one was a bit of a let down as they rushed the story toward's the end and the game some how felt incomplete. So i was very eager to read this book and see how revans story panned out.I must say i loved the book i couldnt put it down i felt very satisfied on the whole with the book and for me personally i felt it sufficently told me what i wanted to know about revan, for example how he was turned to the darkside and how he won the mandalorian wars etc...The only down side to the book i would say was the ebrupt ending which does not give us a conclusion to revan's story instead setting it up for the for the new pc game star wars the old republic.Which i felt was a bit of a cop out especialy if youve actualy played the old republic and see how badly revan is used in the game.On reading some other comments on this book i can understand how some people feel let down by this book as in the original games u could play revan as either a female or male charecter and choose his or her path good or bad and this book chooses a very liniear path in that sense. If your a big revan fan or just a fan of the old repulicera i would definatly recommend this.

A Fun Read
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 July 2015Verified Purchase
When I was a young boy I loved Star Wars. Like Guardians of the Galaxy is to my niece I loved Star Wars, the characters, the story, EVERYTHING. When I got my original Xbox one of the first games I bought was Knights of the Old Republic; a game that too this day remains one of my favourite of all time. Having been hyped by the new Star Wars trailer I decided to dip my toe into the (now non-canon) expanded universe. Figuring that KOTOR was amazing I decided to read the pseudo-sequel books in the series.
While Revan is a great story that introduces a grander tale that's being orchestrated behind the scenes, I found some of the characterisation to be a bit off. Revan really hasn't been characterised at all if you think about it. In the games all the actions Revan does are defined by the player, be the followers of the light or dark side of the force. Hell even Revan's gender is defined by the player, so despite it being nice to have a canon depiction of Revan his personality seemed a bit off. Not that there is anything wrong with his depiction, it's just that MY interpretation of Revan, the man I played to death as a child just didn't seem like this. To me this Revan wasn't the same man, a curse I suppose of being an avatars for us gamers to imprint upon.
The ruination of Bastila however is unforgivable. In the games she is depicted as sassy, independent and a fighter. In the story however she's a meek shadow of her former self. Yes she now has a child to worry about but do I believe that this warrior woman would remain in hiding while the Sith rise in power? Hell no!
Besides that though the story is great. It fills in the blanks about the fates of your other party members from the games, a nice nostalgic touch. The story is gripping and there's even a part with a little robot friend that almost brought a tear to my eye.
A definite read for any Star Wars KOTOR fan.

The Old Republic: Revan - A Review
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 August 2012Verified Purchase
Bridging the gap between the Knights of the Old Republic duology and the recent MMORPG The Old Republic this book is basically designed to explain what happened to the protagonists of the KOTOR games, Revan and the Exile. Fans of KOTOR 2 might be a little disappointed by the fact that the Exile (here identified as female and named Meetra Surik)barely features, she's only really a supporting character many of the party members of the first game are only given a token mention and most of the characters of the second not even given that courtesy. However this book is really about Revan and what happened to him after the events of the first game and in that respect it serves it's purpose. If you are a fan of the original games then this is the closest thing you are likely to get to the part three that never happened. Down sides are that it's a little short, the end is a little rushed and that some fan favourite characters are pushed out of the story altogether. All in all a good read but not likely to convert non fans.
