Poor quality control: there is an adhesive strip that is pre-applied to the rubber strip that you are then supposed to stick to the truck cap.
However, as I began to peel the thin film off the sticky side that is supposed to stick to the truck cap, the entire adhesive strip began ripping from the rubber itself.
The managed to use my own sealant to install this product to my truck cap, but not without great difficulty. I love the design of the rubber strip itself, and the inclusion of putty to fill gaps in the frame is a great bonus. The seeming lack of quality control as it pertains to the adhesive is totally unacceptable, however.
Looks like it would work great. Shipped quick. Packaged well. Package says I’m best advised to wait until 10°C to affix this thing, so clearly I shoulda kept my powder dry until spring. Barf. I’ll take the next chinook and ratchet this thing down. If it doesn’t work, I’ll see if I can come back here and declare such.
The product is really good and solved my seal leakage problem on my truck canopy. Having said that, I’m glad my truck only has a 6 foot box as there is no way there was 23 feet of seal as advertised! More like around 20 in reality.
